Selling brass

I got a bunch of .357 SIG from our local LEO SWAT team training sessions.
A lady that I worked with was married to a SWAT Officer and she would bring me 5.56 and .357 SIG brass.
I don't currently have a SIG, but always wanted to put a barrel in my Glock 22 to play with.

Oh , I don't want the good stuff . I want the shorts so I can crimp the 535s in the 1895 and cut the Colts back to S&W .
I have some of the Hornady 4570. They make 2 different ones. What length do you need? Had about 400 Hornady 45 LC but sold them to Brass Magnet on the other site a while ago.

Most all the brass I have is 556,40. I used to sell all kinds of brass over at the other site. But never the scrap stuff. That is what I have. I missed the boat on selling at the yard before it went down. They must have had a contract or something. It went from $2.75/lb to $1.25 in a weeks time. I have a public range where I get most of my brass. But also go to the LEO range when they shoot. It is a private range that a guy that lets them shoot there.

Hey @CWLONGSHOT got about 200 or so 10mm's this week.

The cut back by math is 1.73 .... 1.8 will probably do the job though .
I don't really know what the Hornady lengths are , but so many ranted about "that short garbage Hornady" for so long , I figured somebody should find a way to use it up . I might just lay in a heavy SWC like canalure for set back ......... Never had even the loudest squeakers let any of it go .....

The Colts I'd cut to 1.10 .

I found some 30-40 Krag ammo. Should I save it or trade this stuff for something I need? ;)

The 220-grain cupro-nickel bullets may be collector items.

Logic says you ought to buy a Krag.

Ah, come on! That ain’t scrap, that’s HISTORY!!!:headbang:

In this whole box of loose cartridges I did actually find one nice cupronickel 30-06, with the head stamp “U.S.C.CO. 17”. It matches my M1917.

I have a LOT of brass I have been collecting. I am considering selling most of it. But I am afraid that most of this is going to be hard to get real soon. I have seen on a few boards that the price for the common 9mm, 556, .40 has been really going up. I am thinking I may hang onto it till after January to see where all of this BS that is going on right now ends up.

So what would you do?

I would hang onto whatever you can use for your own reloads and trade or sell the rest to get other things you need.

About a year ago my wife was nagging me to get rid of the 4 drums of range brass in my workshop. Instead I bought an Ultimate Sorter and 5-gal buckets and had at it. I have sold off some of the surplus brass and have recovered what I paid for the sorter in the past 2 months.

Those of us that remembered the previous component droughts and stocked up accordingly are accused of "hoarding" by those that can't plan ahead. The story of the ant and the grasshopper comes to mind.
