EXACTLY!! The BTs are just too long. Powder cpa is a real deal here and a proper proportioned FB is key to success here. This FTX while both a BT and pointy tip... Is the exception to the rule. I can achieve acceptable velocity without pressures destroying my brass as factory loaded stuff does. Its purpose built for this velocity range! Again that whole 1800 fps threshold. The FTX has proven again and again 16 even 1500 fps is more accurate low point for good expansion where some bullets call 1800 the MIN VELOCITY TO START EXPANSION!! Now of coarse I can beat that at the muzzle EASY. Out past 200... That changes sometimes drastically I only have about 25g of useful powder cap here.Speer makes more than one 100 gr bullet. A boat tail bullet, the flat based Hot Core and if I remember right a hp. The boat tail isn't built with the molten lead process the Hot Core uses and is considered by many to be softer than the Hot Core. I've never used the boat tail or hp so can't give any experience there. The Hot Core process is advertised as a bonding process, I don't think it works very well, but do think they use a bit harder lead core than the others.
Im not at all trying to make this what it aint. I just want what it can safely do. When I need more I have many choices to accomplish that.
That is the glory in the mix.. finding that. Both with such talks of knowing folks and by actually hands on doing.
Love this guys, your a absolute wealth of information, I otherwise could not afford!' You may not know THIS caliber but can safe and accurately surmize what might happen when applied here.
