Bret, if you started a channel and posted one-take videos of tje kind of stuff you describe here, I guarantee people would watch. If you throw in plenty of useful info you might even develop a fan base and make a few bucks once you get the base minimum to be eligible for ad revenue.

Case in point, I have recently watched dozens of utoob videos on how to hand-scrape machine ways. If that isn't obscure, trivial, and low-interest, I don't know what would be, however there are several good to excellent machining channels and the scraping videos get lots of views.

Was doing research on Glock barrels. Got on one of those Devil gun forums.
Was reading, on a particular thread.Got a few giggles, just thought I would share.
It started "The Glock version of polygonal rifling is just fine for shooting lead.
Response: No it is not.
Then,YES it is, you just have to plug things into this formula and seee.... If you can buy a 25 BHN bullet it would be possible.
Well no bullet manufacturers say how hard their ammo is. Reply.... well... reloaders can make them that hard and shoot them thru Glock barrels with no leading."

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
No newbies this AM so far, but there are a couple of animals looking pretty ready. Time will tell.

Our local rabies clinic appears to have been a success and we got enough donations that we only had to pony up a couple of $20's to pay off the vet. One truck full of of Pits and Huskies, (complete with what looked to be a broken frame), would have made a great video. Between the dogs destroying their cages, mom screaming at the kids, the kids screaming at the dogs and each other, the vet wondering who was next to get bit...it was quite a show. Pretty sure I heard "Dueling Banjos" playing somewhere nearby! SWMBO lowered herself to driving my Burb for the 3 trips it took to get our dogs their shots. The youngest Pyrenees apparently doesn't like car rides at all and let loose with the "fear" gland thing that stinks so bad. I'm sure theres a proper name for it, but whatever it is it's a a greasy, bad smell that has permeated the rear of the old Burb.

You Tube, I dunno. I'm just anal enough to where I'd want to edit something to death I think. It's the time factor, there just isn't a lot of it for me. Maybe someday.

Freedom today. Kid came and picked up the dogs about 7:30AM. Said he's been awake for a day, bridge to the airport washed out and only open for a few hrs. so they went across and hikes for a while before the plane loaded, late from LA. Landed early morn,, dumped the wife & kids and off to get the dogs. Kids say they want to go back next year. She is getting #'s of fur from vacuum this morning. Finally. Did I say I'm allergic to dog hair? When I had the Siamese, wife's face would swell up just being in the car where the cat WAS. Son's big orange furball doesn't bother her. My shiatsu doesn't bother me but aussies and collies do. On top of living in TX where any extended stay will tweak sinuses greatly.

Neighbor kid to the rescue!!! I was easilly able to remove plastic inner well and get to wires sitting. He went under and zipped two 14mm bolts and out she came! Local parts has free delivery and PROMPT!! 200$ starter and 40$ for neighbor kid for fifteen minutes work. Probably saved me 200+$ !

She starts nicely now! But I missed therapy

youtube is quite the thing for sure. Here is a little story, I promise to circle back to youtube.

At a recent Garage sale, I bought the first three seasons of "Homeland" (DVD sets), 25¢ per season, can't beat that. It's a "showtime" only cable TV series about CIA and homeland security.

I never had cable, so I never seen it, when it came out in 2011. So, with the hot weather, I've been cooped up in the air conditioning, I started watching them. I just finished season 2.

It's a great show, kind of like "24", some of the same writers I guess. Clair Danes is one of the Stars, her character is bipolar. As I was watching some of the DVD bonus features, I heard her say that she learned most of the quirks of how bipolar people speak and act...from Youtube.

She said there were lots of Bipolar people posting random videos of themselves in the middle of the night, when they can't sleep. I wonder what keywords you use to search for such? Also, this show came out in 2011, so Her youtube searching would be pre-2011 and Youtube was created in 2005, it's hard to believe there would be an excess of bipolar people posting random rants on Youtube back then...but I guess there was.

My sister in law just bought a new jeep wrangler.
It has a function where when you stop at a light, the engine dies and restarts when you depress the excellerator.
She says it a pain, because when you stop to make a right hand turn or stop during a left turn, in the middle of the intersection, your engine shuts down and there is a significant pulse before it gives you power.
It's designed to improve gas milage.

JonB, same thing with "Aspies". They post meltdown videos at two in the morning. Sometimes it's theraputic to know you aren't alone in the world. And yes, people watch them, some to jeer and some for the same reasons they were uploaded in the first place.

Dang, didn't she test drive it before she bought it? I wouldn't have even finished a test drive. What happens when your stuck in a traffic jam for lengthy periods? Lights on? No A/C, battery at a dead drain.

GM products wont shut down with the AC running (nor with the heated seats running on high) and Ford shuts off the AC when the engine stops. Two different approaches to the same problem. Actually the engine fires back up if you ease off the brake a bit. The lag on my Chevy is imperceptible. By the time my foot leaves the brake pedal and hits the gas pedal it is up and running, ready to go.
I think Ford has an override switch that lets the user disable the autostop feature. My Chevy does not. I have only been in Fords and GM products with the autostop features. Mine has been trouble free for over 3 years.

IIRC all the new stuff have the auto stop. The rubber band CVT too.
Ne isn't that flat, try this. Not even a power pole!

Now that was cool -- the sound of full-auto rifle fire from the police range. The police range is located adjacent to the public range, and today was the first time that I've heard full-auto emanating from it. An M-16 I reckon.

An off morning shooting the Pedersoli/Navy Arms* .45-70 rolling block.
Lee 358-340 and 14.7-grains of Unique
Lyman 457193 and 20.0-grains of 2400
I'll use excuse that there was lint in the tang peep sight. Nope, it wasn't lint, but one of my many floaters. A stationary floater, at that.

Even worse shooting with the .38 Special Uberti 1866. I'll use the clean barrel excuse, because I cleaned it after Monday's poor showing with a load that had previously proved to be accurate.

Oh, well, still better than a non-shooting morning.

*The new assistant range master, a young man, gave it a good eyeballing. Either the kid has taste or has never seen a brass-blinged rolling block, one.
