We have a second three day late muzzleloader season. December 10th -12th. The early season ran October 15th - 23rd. For three days, I'll just use the X-bow...........since I already took a buck with the .54 Renegade this year.

Today I get to have a conference with a shoulder surgeon. Recently tore the rotator cuff on my dominant arm. The same arm that 20 years ago had a total shoulder replacement. Today, we will discuss how long recovery will take if the replacement needs to be replaced. I am not ready to retire but my work requires the use of both my arms and shoulders. So, recovery time is a factor in the decision.

Wish me luck!

I've been putting off the same thing. Shoulders wake me up at night, every time I rollover. No issues during the day. Had both knees replaced, seven years ago, due to osteoarthritis.

I took a drive up in the mountains yesterday heading for my favorite Chanterelle mushroom spot.
Didn`t make it that high as I ran into too much snow.
I did see a dandy blacktail buck.
Our rifle season ended 2 weeks ago.
I did get 60 rounds of cast loaded for the Garand.
Most of the wood is stacked and covered.
It sounds like the first snow of the winter is heading this way tonight.

we got 6" of snow yesterday.
I attempted to operate the snowblower, I figured my back is now good enough to tackle such ...and I think is was...I go to chiro later this morning, I'll find out more then, LOL.
Anyway, This new to me, 8 hp Honda walkbehind with hydrostatic drive is an incredible machine, wish I would have bought one years ago, I may never use the ATV with snowblade again.

About 4 years ago I had torn my right rota cuff but wasn’t separated. After the MRI my Doc said he could cut an reroute, reattach or give a shot of steroids and I could using my dominant arm. Can’t throw with either arm, but I’m pretty capable with my left. Couldn’t sleep on my right at all and lots of other problems with movement obviously.
After a year and a half things on the right were getting fairly normal and my left had learned lots of new talented things.
About 4 months ago my talented left shoulder ended up with three tears similar to the problem I had had with my right shoulder, according to the MRI. Same problem's as before just opposite. Same surgery options or take the shot.
Well I was lucky in that things were still attached but just torn. Don’t want surgery if I can avoid it.

Yeah the Honda snowblowers are great. Had a 8 hp 28” Honda since the early 90’s. Graduated to a new 13 hp 32” Honda and as my BIL says ”Oh Baby!“. Awesome machine. But that new small SxS with a plow moves snow fast and the blade is over half again wider then the blower. But I think I have a lot more drive and trails around my shop, storage yard, house and wood shed then you might Jon, but plow up the berm then run the blower threw that and life is good. Anyway, we are supposed to get 4 to 8 inch tonight for the first real snow of the season. Will be the first good test for the SxS. We have been getting 1” then a 1/2” then 2 inches totaling about 6 to 8 inch accumulation so far.

Yeah, mine is a 28" also. For my use, on my typical city lot, I'd probably prefer a 24" ...but I got such a good deal on this unit, I can't complain of size. I'm sure I'll still use the ATV for certain cases, whereas I used to MOSTLY use the ATV for any snow above 3", because my old 7hp toro was such a noisy, rattlely pig, with crappy drive train, that drooled out the snow, instead of throwing it 25 feet like it should, I just dreaded using it.

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
HA! I must have hit my head or something to have seen stars at a little after 5AM this morning, because by the time the sun began to lighten the sky it was solid overcast and heavy, cold rain and wind by 7AM. Outside of a trip to town to get what I forgot yesterday (Miracle Whip- one of the staffs of life here!) and fixing a bale spear, the only thing I've done is get one bale for the barn and putter a little in the shop.

Crappy day!

Miserable, very windy and rainy day today.....The kind that chills you to the bone. Tried to do some work outside but that ended quick!
So I finalized a bunch of Architectural images that my client ordered from our last shoot a a college! Not much more
Supper was Tacos de Lengua and I used up my last Poblano chili from this season! BIL still under the weather with covid so I'm planning on hunting by myself and Calling my son if i have todrag a deer out! He knows the area and it is only 20 minutes from our houses!

Got a pic of this doe out my kitchen window today at noon! Have 2 buck also in the yard but they don't get here when there is enough light for a good picture!

California's Central Coast Amid The Insanity
I was out at 0700 moving potted plants, pulling up stepping stones, wheelbarrowing them to the other end of the house, and stacking them so the plumbers would have places to pile trench dirt. The temperature was 37. It was cold. Neighborhood roofs were frosty. It was so cold my finger tips were frozen from pulling up the cold stones. Finished at 0800. Temperature was 39.
It was still cold.

Plumbers arrived at 0900 and made huge piles of dirt, the young tunnel rat burrowed under the walkways, 52 feet of copper pipe and PEX tubing was laid and leak tested, and the huge piles of dirt were thrown back in the trench. The guys were treated to water, coffee, and a dozen mixed doughnuts. Well, eight actually, because my wife and I had two each. Big bucks, but it had to be done.

Big rain -- .7" to .8" -- is scheduled to start tomorrow morning.

Interesting trip home, after a rather disgruntling day. I was driving about dusk. Saw 3 elk (still enjoying the novelty of that, 200 years ago elk were plains animals and should be again!). About ten miles later I saw 3 antelope and a bunch of shadows of others running through a bank cut--I think they got blown east by the recent storm. Also saw several groups of mule deer, around 23 in all. Good trip, nicely took my mind off work!

A sandwich just isn't a sandwich without the great taste of Miracle Whip!
