I'd say so, it's pretty consistent. I had second thoughts about writing "typo's" with an apostrophe because people might think I didn't know better, but actually it's a contraction and therefore correct. Or is it "therefor"? Or there-for?

Hopefully, knock on wood..... cleaning up less mess after the dog.

Awhile back I made a nice wooden holder thing, looked like a child's stool with holes cut in top for the ss bowls. That lasted a day. Since,we were using a baking pan with 2" high sides to put the bowls in. The dog loved to smack the edge of the bowl flipping it and it's contents in the air.

Wife orders this silicone mat that I thought rather useless? Just gave the bowls more starting friction at launch. So we're sitting there watching and a lightbulb moment goes off for wifeypoo.....

We bought a 1/2 dz of these clay/ceramic bowls as flower pots when first getting married pushing 40 years ago. One was sitting on the table with a plant in it,then we went and found a bigger one for the water. These "might" stay in place? They're right heavy. The big pot on the step holds Coco's toys..... she's been good about just picking the one she wants and going with it,instead of grabbing them all.

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
Didn't get much done yesterday. Made it to a hydraulic shop and got the parts ordered- just under $50 compared to $118 from Deere. Be here Friday. Sopping wet out so I tried doing some inside work after that. My heart wasn't in it and all I did was a little spackling and cut some boards to start fitting a surround to a skylight. Pain in the butt with a sloped ceiling and nothing square. Gave up when I smacked my leg real good on that cast iron clawfoot tub my wife insisted on. Can't do decent work when mad. Spent most of the day doing research on more parts and trying to price out some stuff.

If anything, it's colder today.

Ah Spring in the midwest. Easter Sunday it was 85, front coming through today and a forecast high of 42 on Saturday with snow. I'm hoping the chance of showers holds off as we are supposed to teach 6th graders how to start camp fires this afternoon. Sue and I will have rain gear, and some rain would be more of a challenge for fire starting, but judging from the clothing we saw the kids wearing when they got off the bus yesterday, we better plan on a hypothermia delaying bonfire. Never understood people's penchant for shorts, tank tops, and low shoes. All my life there are things that sting, poke, scratch, tear, puncture, contaminate, irritate, and otherwise cause injury to unprotected flesh as soon as you venture of the urban sidewalks. I have to warn guests to Thorn Hollow of the perils of Honey Locust thorns as they will penetrate tennie shoe soles with ease. We used to hold rendezvous camps/hunts here and I always warned, "No soft sole moccasins!"
It should be interesting to see how sparks from a campfire act on those basket ball shorts and yoga pants.

Never could comprehend why people -- men and women -- wear sandals when it's raining.

The past three days we had clear skies, a slight breeze, and temperatures of 72. Today we have the seasonal fog and gray overcast sky.

Ahh the education of fire.
In boy scouts, one guy would zero in on the kid with frayed pants. Which was just about everyone. He'd give the frays a quick shot of lighter fluid,
then the next guy would touch it off with a match.
Great fun.

Maybe it's the only time they wash their feet.

[chuckle] the only skin that is ever exposed on me outdoors is my hands and the area between my shirt lapels and hat band, and only then if I'm not wearing gloves. I might forego the long sleeves if I'm just taking out the trash.

It's so challenging to be inside, when the weather is so nice outside.
As I was checking the seedlings, which are next to my reloading/casting room, I see the many projects that have been idled. one press setup for 45 acp ammo, the 38 super dies which haven't even been out of the box yet, several flavors of 41 cal pistol bullets that have been cast, but not sized/lubed yet, a Ideal mold [38 SWC-GC] that needs to be lee-mented.

BUT, outside, a firewood pile awaits to be moved and restacked, into the shelter area for next years use. I started moving it yesterday, and got like 1/3 of a cord stacked before my knees started hurting. The shelter area holds about 3 cords :(

Cut up and hauled about 6 or 7 trailer loads of branches which came down over the winter to the burn
pile. Some was walnut. I saved back some medium size pieces of that, will see if I can turn it down and
make some nice file handles for nothing. Will report if they turn out nice.

Gotta get the backpack sprayer out and do some pushback against the dandelions. And then, I think it
will be officially mowing season. Got my wife's JD425 swapped from snow blade to belly mower a couple
of weeks ago, and ran my Great Dan stander around the house a couple of days ago just to be sure it is
running OK. Going to be serious mowing time now, no more slacking.

ITS, sounds like she is a level headed dog. That is generally caused by having a level headed 'boss'. Well
behaved dogs reflect well on the owner, kinda like kids. :)

Just had the guys put to look at siding and some windows. I hate spending lots of money on the house but it is ultimately worth it. My castle needs a few upgrades.

Gary,
For many of the local bums, and permanent "travelers" that is very true.

Over a period of three years, we had the 1958 original windows and a 1981 8' sliding door replaced with double-pane vinyls. Man, what a difference! Not only in the Winter heat retention, but even more noticeable and enjoyable is the huge reduction in outside noise.

If memory is correct, every dollar spent on home upgrades returns three, at time of sale. If you plan on selling . . .

I've never been able to handle long sleeves in summer. Of course "summer" lasts about 6 weeks here, so...

Horse puckey! I mean no offense, but that sounds like a home improvement TV show talking. I would love to see real life numbers to back that up. I'd guess most people are lucky if they even break even!
