If you are keeping up with social distancing then a mask doesn’t matter a bunch. Just realize that with almost any speaking some droplets get out and land on surfaces.

I don’t wear a mask because I would find it very uncomfortable after an 8 hour day.

Just read that John Prine died from complications of the Chinese Flu. I started listening to his music about 1975.
Read in peace . . .

Ah, yes, P. J. O'Rourke.
I heard that on the news last night. For some reason it hit me hard.

if your hands are covered in dirt or grease you do a lot better job of not touching your face.

little something to kill 10 minutes of your day without you knowing it's been 10 minutes.

Just ordered 500 new Starline cases for 45 Colt.
The Marlin and Ruger don’t mind sharing but the S&W has tight chambers that don’t like the Ruger/Marlin bulge.
These will be dedicated to the Mod 25

:headscratch:Ruger/Marlin bulge.............that's a new one on me. Is that like the notorious Glock bulge? I hear a lot of complaints about undersized throats on Ruger's. Both my RH and BH are early models, with uniform throats, that run on the large size. Just perfect for cast bullets.

Partial sized 45 Colt case that was fired in either Ruger or Marlin.
You can see how bulged the base of the case becomes. A sizer has trouble reaching far enough down the case to remove the bulge.
Case life runs around 10 loads and when they split it isn’t the mouth, It is almost 3/4 the case length.

Lower power loads in the Marlin with a soft lube leave grunge in the action you have to see to believe. Poor case seal in chamber lets the lube blow back along case and into the action. Crank the pressure up and it largely stops due to better case expansion sealing the chamber.

Yup, mask is for everyone else. I wear my cloth allergy mask with nose wire and elastic loops that hook behind my ears because it is comfortable, protects others if I get exposed from a customer's vehicle, orotects me somewhat (I don't wear safety glasses unless at the store because it is so humid they perpetually fog over), and the mask keeps me from touching my face. Greasy hands are automatically CV19-proof, so that's a bonus. I have a parts washer right next to my toolbox and a dunk in the varsol is better than alcohol.

Marlin and Ruger bulge is a thing, annoying as heck. NEF bulge is worse, and Taurus Thunderbolt hulge is worse than that. The only .45 Colt I own with good, tight chambers and correct throats is my Uberti 1871 Open Top replica.

I'm have gotten close to 20 reloadings with brass (W-W) fired in the BH............those are Ruger only loads, with 2400 powder. Don't have a 45 LC carbine, only Marlin is a 44 Magnum. I can interchange the brass with the RH but since have gone to neck sizing only, for increased accuracy with the 1894, I choose not to.

The Ruger BH is a little fat @.481 fired brass but the Rossi M92's go .484 at the mouth to .494 in the body . That's a little much with a .445×.451- bore in both a 1986ish and a 2013 example . The 13 was sent away for a barrel and chamber to match the BH or get close enough to close the bolt on the 92' and drop in the Ruger .

I have aquired a couple of sets of steel 45 Colts dies but haven't gotten back to the Colts brass yet to check them out . I resorted to neck sizing with the carbide dies as they were leaving brass at .472 and giving me that coke bottle look that can't be good for the brass .

SNIP...

They added that law enforcement was empowered to enforce these orders via citations, fines, and arrests.
Reported 2 days ago, in the first week of the Governor's two week long "stay-at-home" order, there have been 8 violation tickets written in Minnesota.
No more was reported about amount of fine or other consequence.

Masks weren't mentioned until the beginning of the second week of the Order. Apparently they are only recommended and not mandated.

Today, they are about to report there will be a continuation of this order for another week or two.

Dallas County has a "shelter in place" order until May 20th.
I think Texas has one that goes until April 30.

I have my “get out of jail free” letter should NE or IA decide to go to a curfew or other enforced stay at home order. I will be one of the last jobs to be labeled non essential.

Well this is our fourth week of "stay home". Normal Wednesday I am getting ready go to the mountains villages for our weekly services. But that is not possible as I could not get motorcycle papers to leave the area.
But I did learn a food hauler was returning to those villages Monday.
So today I walked a bit over 5 miles to a pharmacy tat is the only one we know of that sells an anti-convulsion medicine a 11 year old girl needs up there or she eventually will choke to death. Then I got a taxi to haul me the 6 miles to and from home to get the meds for the girl to the man with the truck.
Could have done it all in one hour on our 2 wheeler..... but that is the way things are.

What that made me think of is:
"We rob banks!"!
Whose the driver and who goes into the bank?

The above photo is Marie and I geared up for our grocery run a couple hours ago. Life In Kalifornistan--Embrace The Suck.

Ahem.

I fought a similar battle with my 45 Colt brass in the Ruger Bishawk. Fired brass bases with heavy loads open out to about .478", while black-powder-level loads are in the .477" ZIP Code. Certainly acceptable, that. Where the music got discordant was within the RCBS tungsten-carbide sizing die for 45 Colt, which REALLY reduced diameter--to .469". I use a .453" expander spud for .454" cast bullets, so the brass came out "Coke-bottled" with a vengeance. Case life was short, and the longitudinal cracks were long. I snagged a steel RCBS sizing die some years back, which gives a "fat .475"/skinny .476" finished diameter to all brass. Brass life was markedly increased, and since my 44 Special/Magnum T/C die had similar attitudinal dysfunctions I replaced that one with a steel die and got similar beneficial side effects in that caliber.
