Were those two bucks sparing or just playing a little? People talk about a second, later rut of much lower intensity, might be some truth to it to see those guys sparring in January.

So, it begs the questions: Does the rider let the engine idle while he fires the gun?. Or, has the throttle been moved to the left grip?

That looks like an answer looking for a problem. Maybe the Brit's controls on bikes are on the wrong side just like their cars?

I know some controls on British bike were wired. I went and looked at a 60s vintage Triumph a few years ago which had the rear brake pedal and shifyer lever on opposite sides from what we're used to. I'd have probably killed myself trying to ride it. Seems I remember Indian motorcycles used to have a left hand throttle.

Looking at the helmet.... Is that an early Airborne helmet ?
Also the "Norton" looks rather small framed... Could this be a Airborne experiment that never really proved effective ?
On the other side I had a 1971 750 Norton Commando. That bike was quick and fast.

We’re replacing our basement door. Apparently the last one was hung Friday October 12, 1945.

Mighty darned hard to feed yourself in the 1930s, much less a family of 7.
I do not even want to think how hard!

Raised 5 boys - now 25-38. If I had 3-5 of them home now, in their mids/teens - and had to feed them today!?!? I would be bankrupt, or a cattle rustler or poacher!!! Or an ugly combo, just to feed them all. And gawd forbid clothing and shodding them!

From "Traces of Texas" FB page... "Traces of Texas reader Stan Watty was nice enough to share this circa 1905 photo of a gunfight in El Paso. R.G. McKinney, El Paso photographer, took this and wrote on the back "Gunfight, 7th & South El Paso Streets, El Paso, Texas. City Detective in black suit, back of pole, is firing at a fugitive holed up in (or on roof of) the Popular Saloon." Amazing. For some reason, I love the bicycle at the detective's feet ... like a kid just left it when gunfire erupted. I have never seen this before."

Part that kills me is, someone was able to get a photo, AND the people standing at the front of the saloon/no panic apparent!View attachment 40089

No CLUE what the heck I did, but... on my laptop, THIS photo is now my background splash photo! End of the day, not at all bad! lol!
