Testing the bullseye target camera system at one mile.

This system is really cool at "normal" distances for marking and noting hits on target. We were using it as a visual aid to spot misses at extreme ranges. It worked well until my brother put a .338" bullet through a 1/4" cord at one mile...... :embarrassed:

Your brother is one hell of a shot! :):D:rolleyes:

I assume the cord can't run all the way back? Hope that it was just a cord between the camera and battery
pack or something like that. I can't imagine laying and recovering a mile of wire every trip, I assume it
has to be radio.....doesn't it?

OK, watched the (excellent!) video. A few inches left and the antenna would have been toast, probably not
$7. I'm thinking that some AR500 may be in order or the camera itself. It may be bad to have steel in
front of the antenna. Is a longer cable to get the antenna WAY off to the side available?

The wire he hit runs from the camera to the antenna all of which is downrange. It's maybe 10'-12' long. It was a $7 cord. :)

At large, whereabouts unknown.
Way to go Aaron:). Another 6 inches to the left could have been painful.

Kidding aside, you guys do some damn fine long range shooting!

Sept. 10, 2021 Steve left us. You are missed.
Cool video. Don't know much about YouTube, is it beneficial to you if I subscribe? I think I did, don't know for sure. How would I know?

Nice shooting and a rear video. His editing is really good.
A nice steel plate to protect the camera would be a wise project? And then move the antenna off to the side more?

Not beneficial to us, no. Would just keep you updated when we post new stuff. Thanks for watching!

If it wasn’t so damn far we could all road trip to Oregon to shoot with Walter and Aaron.

As said in the video, the trees are kinda in our way. we need to scout out a better place to shoot. Believe it or not, even out here with endless BLM land, it's tough to find a good flat area to shoot out to 1800+ yards were it's easy enough to set up targets and your stop to shoot from.

Got a chain saw? :headscratch:

It's all about having some clear ground on a slight uphill slope. Seeing splash is very beneficial to the spotter. WAY too much brush on the ground where we shoot. We even cleared out a bunch. Still not quite enough.

There are some nice big alkali flats 70-80 miles down the road from this spot. We might go check that place out in the near future.

A nice vertical backstop would help too.
Color me jealous, I have no place even close to that for shooting long distance. I can do 600 anytime I want but not any farther.

600 is no joke. You can learn a lot from that distance. We do a bunch of 500 yard shooting because it's close to home. I can get 1000 with an hour and a half drive.

Yes, far.
iPad map says 1695 miles, 1 day and 44 min drive from me. I consider that far.

I could drive to Miami faster than Springfield, OR

I think Fiver's like 1500 miles away from me, and that's more or less on the way.
