close-nuff good-nuff....
Johnny i think you've seen enough recommendations to not get wrapped around the axle about exactness, or 1 BHN point being the end of the world.
most of us make a huge batch of alloy out of what we got handy and then work our loads to make the most of things.
i shoot a lot of 2400 at about 1900 fps with most of my rifles, and unique in the big handgun cases at around 3/4's throttle.
sometimes i wander off the path to faster powders in stuff like the 9mm and 45 acp, or when i want the 44/38 special to plop bullets out at 700 fps.
it's all the same alloy, exactly what it is???
hell i can guess at what's in it,a lot of 22 bullets, car and truck ww's, some Lino, Lino spacers, a few meh [shrug] ingots, some Body lead, a little Tin, and some stick on ww's are all mixed together.
probably some copper and zinc in there too.
i've wound it up to 2400 or better a few times, and i've pushed it all the way to the top in the 357/44 mag/45 colt without a gas check.
the only thing it is, is consistent.
