MP 453-490 mold came in. Its perfect. I posted a couple videos to a thread I started on this mold.

I got it cleaned and heat cycled three times.

I was anxious so I started a quick cast ta see samples and weigh.

This alloy is lil harder then WW, I have deluded it to soften for todays casting.

But HP = 213g. CUP = 225g. Solids where 230g.

I seated ine in a 45 Colt as the nose looks long. Reminding me of the 429421 profile.

Again these are not culled and just workable samples for these measurements.

453-490 ? Is that a correct number? I only have the one 462-420 that .460-417 in ww . At 230 that looks like the all purpose solution I want for the S&W and ACP .

I opened the shop doors to let the cold breeze through and cast up some Lee 277135 for my 6.8x43mm and used the Lee 55gr Bator mould for the first time. They both just kept dropping very nice bullets. I'm using my personal range scrap with some pewter added, and I only had a couple of rejects while the moulds heated up.

At large, whereabouts unknown.
453490 is an "MPism" for Ray Thompsons 452490 45 ACP & Colt design. Ray originally designed it with a gas check, which is omitted in this particular MP mould.

I sent out a "care" package of bullets this AM and realized I was out of Saeco 353's & Lee 452-255's.

So temps out side are above freezing so the pot is warming!!

I recycle my coffee bags to put my cast and loaded bullets in. For fun, I use this bag to store my .45-230gr RN
I'm sick and have to spend my days away from my bench. And so, I made labels for my cast plinking and target bullets using a different brand of coffee bag.

Finally got to cast up some of the MP 9MM 357-125 gr. penta HP bullets this weekend with my new mold. I finished coating and sizing them tonight. Hope to get some loaded up over the weekend to test out while I'm off work Monday. Going to be interspersing to see how my soft alloy works expansion wise.
