Drained the Lee 20-pounder of the handgun alloy, cleaned it, dumped in some RCBS 30-180-SPs and presto-changeoed them into a bunch of NOE 311-188 FNs.

Today I cast 8 ingots from JHP range scrap cores and will cast 45-200SWC and 38-148WC bullets with it. Then I took the shreds of misc lead from the same range scrap and cast fishing weights for my brother. Yesterday I cast chess pieces. filed the bases flat, got tired and didn't PC them. I'll do that next weekend.

~500 RCBS 44-250Ks for the 44 Specials. First time I think I have cast with an RCBS mold. Thing was a dream! Prob not even mess with the two Lyman 429421s I have. The RCBS drops .431-.432 - exactly as I need them!

Not Johnny, but it's Lyman #245496. (I know this because he recently purchased that mould from me.).

Up to 40 in the shop yesterday so set up for casting and cast for an hour. Made 52 nice Mountain Mold .40's (300 grain) for the Sharp's. And after fooling around for 15 minutes got 20 Ideal 308403 Pope bullets to try in the 1885. They weigh 163 grains from 20/1 and the base band is .314", second one is .304" and the rest .301". Don't know if they are going to be useable in a cartridge, or have to be breech seated.

I mostly only shoot revolvers and all those in 38 special or 357 magnum. So I mostly cast those bullets; put this picture up on another site with labels on each bullet I am casting now.

Little bit of over kill. I have exactly three 38/357 moulds. The RCBS 158 SWC GC that I started casting with, back in the late 70's.

Thirty or more years later, picked up the 180 NOE WFN.

More recently, Accurate's 158 RNFP (158V & VG). A four cavity iron mold that drops 2 PB & 2 GC castings.






No plans for any other 38 caliber moulds. Full WC's need not apply.

Forgot one, the RCBS 160 RN PB. Bought that one off e-bay for 38 Special, for use with speed loaders, about 15 years ago.

I shoot a lot of 38/357 as well. Basically lee 125,and Lyman 358156. I have played with the 358-200 rf. Then I found out when loaded in 357 brass their to long for my Rossi 92. But the 38s feed good with the 200 gr bullet. That's also a gas check bullet.

I have those RCBS moulds too. If you think that's over kill I have about 12 seaters dies plus extra LNL bushings for them too. Love everything 38 special or 357; 13 revolvers, 2 lever guns, 2 contenders and 1 encore

Shot 8,804 38 special and 830 357 magnum rounds in 2022. Best year was 2019 10,328 38 special and 8,530 357 magnum rounds. I use the 200 in my encore rifle only shoot 158 and 125 RN in the Rossi.
