What is-was your favorite cast bullet spitter.

Was wanting to show off my lady. Her name is Nancy. This is the girl that brought me to the dance.
I bought this Taurus 66 for something to just beat Round, throw in the trunk, and have my way with. She lives on a diet of nothing but cast. She shot the first bullet I ever loaded. She has shot nothing but cast that I have loaded.
Thought it would be nice to see or hear about some favorite guns , you have, or have had. Dedicated to cast bullets. The ones that got you started, or greatly peaked your interest in loading and casting.

No picture but my favorite cast bullet gun is a plain Jane skinny 4" barrel Model 10. I have lots of more expensive and sophisticated guns in power levels from .22lr to .45-70, handguns and rifles, all fun to shoot. But right now with the limited time I have for recreation I usually take either that or a .22lr revolver to the range. Relaxing, not taxing like the bigger flame throwers. Used to use a lot of 358477s and 358429s (SWCs) but am doing more with 358311s (RN factory dup loads) now.

To each their own!

Not even close. Marlin 1894 CB in 45 a Colt, 24” barrel., shoots very well, handles like nobody’s business. Has taken a couple pigs and deer. Handle load from mild to wild.
I have fired many K rounds then it and now the action is smooth as silk.

Think I would be very attached to that one too!

Gave some thought to that question and couldn't come up with a single one that spits. Not even a little drooling.

Going way back probably started in earnest competing with cast with this one.

After that I got downright serious with . . .

FA 357 9 inch Burris 3x12-small.jpg

It doesn't wear the scope competing, only for load development.

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
Probably the one that did the most for me with cast is a Savage 23C Sporter, a 32-20 bolt gun. I found out what the 32-20 is really capable of with a scope, a great barrel and a nice trigger. Everything from 32 S+W level near silent loads to 2200fps plus varmint blasters and at ranges out well past 00 yards. In the end I wound up back at the 1400-ish fps level with the Lyman 311316. Just a really nice and sweet shooting rifle up to coyote level stuff.

In a handgun it would have to be my Smith 19 and the 358156 in 38 and 357 brass. Good Lord! The amount of powder burned in that gun is impressive, at least for me. A close second would be a Colt Cobra 2" job that held up to stupid loads back in my "faster is better" days.

Mine is a 6" S&W model 629.
It started me down this road and is probably the most accurate lead shooter I own.
Next would be my 6" S&W model 66.

I'm hoping it will be the rebarrled 92' in Colts .

I'm awfully fickle . Shooting lead it's probably my BPS .
Single projectile ? I fall in love get distracted/bored and get on to something else . If I narrowed it down to specific items that made me happy it's a 1-11 twist , 98' , 7×57 cut with a 280 AI reamer . But it would probably be a huge disappointment when I got it . So the fall back is a toss between the 222 Savage 340 and it's 325 30-30 sister or the 98' 358 . Which doesn't mean I don't love the 7×6.8 Carcano for it's curb appeal/shock value .

I built this one for my daughter, but still my current favorite. 1908 model put back to 30 WCF.
You guys are making me want to get a lever.
Ian, excuse me for my ignorance but... is that a Winchester 1894, built in 1908?? BTW that big brass butt plate really shows it off.

Wow, when you said built . You meant it.
So this is a savage 99. Sorry for my lack of knowledge concerning levers. Meant no insult by calling it a Winchester.
I do not have a Savage, but I do have part of a Stevens 44 rolling block, that I found in the dirt.
Looks like you like bringing back lost cases. I tried a bit, then gave up on. It is free to a good home. If you have an FFL I can have my local dealer send it to you. PS I have wood for it to.

handgun.
Image result for Dan Wesson 357 Magnum

my first lever gun in 45 colt navy arms build from rossi parts.
if I'd known then..
it has had 4 jacketed bullets down the barrel since 1991.
2 deer, 1 grouse, and 1 jack rabbit.
never had a patch down the barrel since day one.

this one has had more rounds down the barrel than probably any other gun I own, except maybe that dan Wesson, and is the first gun I bought after moving to Idaho.
it's in 44 mag.
I have swapped the sights out on it to a set of Williams I took off an old Arisaka and it now wears a leather butt wrap.
it went everywhere my truck went for probably 15 years and got shot every time I had the chance to shoot while in Wyoming.
it's shot more rabbits and prairie dogs than my varmint rifle has.
