We have had some sun the past 2 days so that energized my body battery! Hit the low 40s both days
Supposed to have some rain/snow mix tonight and snow tomorrow night into Friday morning!

Back in the '90s I actually had a bit of luck fishing for halibut off the jetties at Channel Islands Harbor in Oxnard, CA.

Mrs. smokeywolf loves our weather here in North-Central AR, but doesn't want more winter than what we get here. At one time, back in the late '60s to early '70s I'd have seriously considered Coos Bay, OR for a retirement location. Good salmon fishing, moderate winters and gorgeous surroundings. Sadly, property taxes doubled and in some counties (Deschutes, for instance) almost tripled in Oregon during the '70s.

You can thank your California compadres for migrating to Oregon and surrounding western states. Buying up properties for ungodly sums they received when they sold their overpriced property in Cali. We had designs on Oregon, back in the 70's, when in college. By the time I was thinking about retiring, we couldn't afford the property or the taxes to keep it.

From the early 70's through the 90's was my intention to retire in Oregon. I dearly love the PNW. Became pretty clear by then that was out of the question.

Warmed up to 32, freezing rain, turning to 5-7 inches of snow by tomorrow morning. Then warm front bringing more rain, can you say flood? Pass above my house had 246 inches of snow accumulation on January 3, most in over 20 years.

Was just out, windy squeaky-snow cold. In less-relative terms, temp about 2* F, winds 5-15 mph mostly out of the N-NW, pushing light snow.

Spent an hour with the snowblower this morning, too much time knee-deep in snow during my shift, another hour with the snowblower after work. Should've worn better socks. Stayed around -8 to -10 for most of the day, but windy.

Not sure how much snow we got overnight through the morning.. somewhere between none and two feet or so depending on where you measure the drifts, it all came down sideways.

16*F and spitting snow. Pretty stiff West winds. They say we are getting lake effect snow bands but they are not predicting much accumulation.

Woke up to about 8 inches on the ground.
Hard to tell due to the wind we had.
Just got in from shoveling the sidewalk and driveway.
It's a balmy +1 outside.

Winter Weather Advisory out for parts of northern Arkansas............for up to one inch accumulation. Trying to snow, right now. Currently, 26* down from 29* at 5AM with north winds at 5-6 mph. Suppose to end by noon. This would be our first snow of the season.
