What is your weather today?

California's Central Coast Amid The Insanity
I have deleted both national and local news from my life, even local radio news. Most everything is a surprise to me now. After the constant drum beat of negativity coming out of my TV a couple of years ago, I just dropped it. Oh and sports too.
Yep, I quit television and radio a long, long time ago. Don't need 24-hour news negativity, programming designed for morons and the braindead, and massive sports egos. My wife is a watcher, and I must admit that there are some nice looking news-babes.

Much about living in southern Kalifornistan has become crowded and unpleasant, but GOODNESS' SAKE we have some right comely lasses doing news and weather reporting locally. If you have to listen to "AIDS & Earthquakes", "Crime & Violence", or "Bomb Cyclones & Climate Change" drivel streams, at least it gets touted by nice-looking people.

I'm kind of addicted to the TV news. I watch for entertainment purposes only, so it doesn't raise my blood pressure, but I get more laughs from the news, than watching the TV shows that are suppose to be funny. I believe that is due to the fact, that I am not in the target market for those that are producing new entertainment content.

My brother lives in San Antonio, too. After several years, he was finally able to bring his Filipino wife over to the States, this past spring. This is her first winter - of any kind! In the Phillipines, the temperature runs from a low of @ 75 degrees Fahrenheit, up to the mid 90's. She is NOT looking forward to the upcoming weather there in San Antonio!!

They did well with Rona Barrett and Connie Chung through about 86' I guess .

What's that line " the bubble headed bleach blonde comes on at 5 . She can tell you about the plane crash with a gleam in her eye . It's interesting when people die . Give us dirty laundry ."

Nope I don't miss the news at all . I do occasionally skim by just for the bust , but middle AR hasn't offered much yet .

We're not hooked up to any TV feed. Get my news from the computer and except for providing the occasional laugh, steer clear of the less credible outlets.

It is currently 10*F and cloudy. They say we are heading to 40* and rain this evening, turning to snow. Welcome to the roller coaster that is Michigan weather. There must be something to it, my sinuses are about to explode.

kahack,cough,caak.
it's so cold i can't get the smoke to suck up the chimney, cough, cough.
Yup, fortunately we have sheet metal stove pipe running from the stove through the poured concrete wall into the exterior chimney. I can heat the pipe with a propane torch until I can get the air flow to reverse. Funny how most times the chimney draws just fine but certain weather conditions cause cold air to flow down.

But if I screw up and don't take my time I can cause the smoke detectors to go nuts. Oh, it's plus 5 and clear as a bell outside.

yeah, normally it draws so hard i have the flue and bottom stuff closed tight and it still pulls a bit too much air through it.

Holy cow, it hit plus 39 with a southerly breeze. Of course that is supposed to change right back to highs in the teens and lows below zero.
