What is your weather today?

Thunderstorms in the western Mojave desert and SOCAL this morning.

Somewhat refreshing as it has been many months since we have had rain.

I always got a laugh out of SoCal's weather guesser's talking about a drought. Of course there is a drought, that's why it's a desert. Drought is the normal not the exception. People there always spend July & August complaining about the heat and climate change. I always asked them, climate change? Is that what you call it? Always got the same answer, "of course what do you call it?" I would simply reply, summer in the desert.

Hominids don't like change .

If they tree huggers really wanted to protect stuff and improve stuff they'd borrow that tunnel drill and hog out 2 holes in to the Salton Sea and add some hydroelectric generators it would wash the salt out of the basin lower the sea level like .003 inches and provide a natural evaporator for the southern Rockies .

Mrs. smokeywolf and I were commenting this morning that we must be in a drought, as we haven't had rain in nearly 2 weeks. We very much like the frequent rain we get here. Lake is topped off and our well won't go dry.

Yep, been here in the Lancaster/Palmdale/Mojave area since I got out of the Army in 1985.

Everyone "new" here screams global warming because the summers are so hot and dry.

I'm like, "yeah, it's the desert". After 37 years here, I actually think it is cooler than it used to be.

The Sequoia's show the weather patterns in their rings but none of these people want to look at evidence, just their opinions.

Funny, even the Bible talks of extreme droughts but of course the naysayers won't talk about the Bible!

Warm weather broke yesterday morning just in time for the shoot. We should be comfortable. Lows in the upper 50's highs in upper 70's low 80's. Clear skies.

Lucky you. We're heading for the low to mid 90's today. Guessers have 99* for Saturday. Little cooler the start on next week. Then back in the 90's.

We are starting to get dry and crispy. I've watered certain things (pear trees, tomatos/peppers, and raspberries) every few days, including this morning. My cistern only has one or two waterings left in her. If we don't get the rain that they are predicting tonight and/or tomorrow evening and/or Sat morning...I may have to make some tough decisions of what plants to ignore and let die.

I'm currently enjoying a bit more moderate weather at my place. Only got to 99 but the humidity remarkably is only 34%.

Nice day in the desert PNW; 45 this morning and down to 86 at 5 PM. Heading to the local AA baseball game in a hour and weather will be good, 72 at 10 PM and humidity will be up to about 25%.
