What is your weather today?

Felt sorry for the birds a few days ago. Set up a small birdbath w/solar powered fountain clamped to the deck railing. Not too popular yet.
We have three birdbaths...............two in the back......... one standard height and one about a foot off the ground. Both have the solar fountains to circulate the water and slow down algae buildup. Last evening at dusk a small buck came and drained the lower one. With the dry spell we're having, they are frequently empty, by morning. Cindy has a ceramic tray type, in the front of the house, sitting on one of the large decorative boulders.

We’ve only had 3 rains this summer, one was a gully washer, 2nd was a thunderstorm which produced good sized puddles that lasted almost 2 days, third was a light rain that lasted 2 to 3 hours. Pretty dry to say the least, lots of forest fires closest is 24 miles, 4 more inside a hundred mile circle. Been smokey to say the least. Last two days have been much better the smoke is high up as it moves through.
Last 10 days have been in the 80’s which is expected to last till the weekend. Then predicted to drop into the mid 70’s and start raining. We need it. Everyone is kinda on edge with the fires.

Edit: Last year we had only one day that reached the 80*, cold and cloudy. If it wasn’t for the smoke this would be a good summer. Still not bad only have had a couple of days where you would want to stay inside.

Normal Texas summer, just a bit earlier than normal. Weather people going berserk about the high temp warnings. Maybe they need to go back to Chi town. Always talking 'records'. Who cares? Noticed the Nederlands are screaming about cow farts ruining air quality. Farmers upset so LE shot a tractor. I say bottle the NO2 and sell to the racers!

Only read the headline, but it said from '19 to '22 California missed a year's worth of rain. (Rain year is from 1 July to 30 June.) Where I live our '22 total was less than 10", while the historic average is about 20".

Another common ordinary, non-manmade, Mother Nature doing her thing drought.

broke 90 today, then it started to rain [finally]
at first the wind howled and it blew sideways with the attendant lightning show, now it's settled down and it's just raining steadily.
dropped the temp from 90 to 65 in about 2 minutes, it feels nice but for the humidity.

Beautiful evening to watch the local AA baseball game. 87 at game time and cooled off to 78 in the 9th inning. Cloudless sky and just enough breeze to keep cool. Local club beat those Canadians again tonight.

another whirl wind blew through tonight.
it blew the G-kid's balls, and pool toys all over the yard and i got in some good laughs watching him try to catch them.
i thought their trampoline was going over the fence for a minute there.
all it did here was roll the canoe over and slam the lid shut on two of the garden boxes, bent the hell out of my flowering carrots and nothing in them got any of the rain,,, meh i got a hose.

Burn bans have finally been put in place. Been hot and dry, way too long. Wild blackberries and red raspberries. They dried up a month ago from lack of precipitation. Hit 98 degrees, yesterday. Guessers have 99* for today & 102* for Saturday. Scattered T-storms for Sunday.please-boy.gifHowever, only a 41% chance.

Nope, and you don't want to be now. Grass was wet this morning, brown patches are growing great.
I ate the peach cobbler cold! Yum. Don't waste the ice cream.
Feet weren't swollen this morning, but I did sleep til 9am. Noticed they get swollen, then not, a few weeks back. Darn, gotta make a doc apt.
