I just looked at my area's 10 day forecast. 8 of the next 10 days are showing rain--significant amounts of same. This is a weather pattern I recognize as a long-term resident of Kalifornistan.

we got a snow star for the 5-6"s we got today, and three little snow flakes for tonight. [12-18"s]

the wife called in a panic since she works in the next valley over.
i was like: you bought the miniature car and traded in the 4wd. Tahoe that had aggressive tires and a set of chains,,, not me.

I'm quite happy as of now. 26° when we got up a while ago and now it's snowing. Yes snowing, not the freezing rain they were forecasting. I'll gladly take snow. Snow doesn't coat power lines and trees. I can plow snow, heck I can shovel snow if I have to. Freezing rain not so much.

I woke expecting the "Ice Storm of the Century" that they predicted for our overnight. So far it is 33 degrees and cloudy with light Northeasterly winds. Now they are dialing their dire predictions back. Time will tell, its pretty long odds that the weather prognosticators get it right.

Been nice weather here on the valley floor the last week, but 3 feet of new snow on the pass. Two days ago the wind started 24+ MPH but warm in the 50's. Last night the wind dropped and changed directions. This morning light snow on the ground and 28*. Predicted low for tonight is 10*.

Small bit of snow here in the Mojave Desert. Supposed to get a lot Friday through Monday.

Hopefully it won't stop me from getting to LAX early Wednesday morning. Gonna visit the daughter in Dallas and drive up to OKC to look at houses

well,, this storm ain't no Joke.
we are caught in the middle of 2 fronts.
just to my north the wind is out of the north, and just to my south the wind is out of the south.
the snow keeps on switching around pretty much from every direction but down.
there ain't no sense in trying to shovel it just drifts back in again before your done.

I have a sneakin suspicion that the big blizzard we are suppose to get tonight thru the morning...isn't gonna be that big. It sure doesn't look like much out there right now. I have a Chiro appt at 9am, I bet it won't be nuthin to get there and then back home afterward.
