My Hi-Power is a 'HP by proxy'--the CZ-75 carried cocked and locked. I would like one of the new Springfield HPs, but Kalifornistan won't approve them after years of approving the Browning version. THIS PLACE--JEEZ!
A CZ 75 SAO as a Hi Power by proxy. I like the CZ 75 pistols, but these rarely have ambidextrous safeties and being a lefty the right-side safety lever is appreciated. Unfortunately, you don't just add an ambidextrous safety to a CZ 75 either. The CZ 75 Single Action Only fortunately does offer a lefty friendly safety. As something of a general rule, the CZ made 75 pistols have shorter chambers with minimal leads to them. If you like to reload your 9mm ammo a bit on the long or fat side, you may very well find out it won't chamber properly. The sear cage setup also makes getting a really clean trigger on one a bit of a chore. Pulling the trigger in single action mode cams the hammer back some. Ergonomics similar to the Hi Power make up for these short comings though. I still have a S&W 639, a stainless steel framed 8 round capacity version of the S&W 59 from back in the mid 1980's when S&W seemed to offer up new variations of their pistols about every month. It's been nothing but dead bang reliable and accurate. Three CZ 75's two Hi Powers and the S&W 39 all feed the Lee 9mm-120-TC just fine. The Lee six cavity mould gets the most use because it put out the most bullets in the shortest period of time. I've only two other 9mm moulds a RCBS 9mm-124-CN two cavity and a NOE five cavity 358-124-TC.
