I ALWAYS cast outside.
My casting table ( now well over 35 yrs. old ) is on casters so
I can roll the table in or out of my basement.

I was in a Thrift Store this afternoon and saw some stereo computer speakers for $5.00 I bought them, came home and put them on my casting bench. Now I can simply plug the 3.5 mm speaker plug into my phone and pick out the music that I want to listen to.

I tested them today, they sound real good ! !

New phones don't have headphone jacks anymore. You've probably got one of the last compatable phones for that setup.

I have a Bluetooth speaker I use when casting. When loading I have an IPod touch I use with headphones.

I just last week tossed my 1970's cassette boom box from over the casting bench because the cassette quit working. 45+ years of fumes did something bad to it. Now what am I going to do with 100 hours of classical music on cassettes?

Nice setup you have there, Ben!
Having access to such an immense and varied amount of music, is probably what I appreciate most with my smart phone.

Lots of them for sale. Read an article a month or so back that cassettes are making a minor comeback, like vinyl LP's.

I use Sonos portable wi-fi speakers & soundbars, throughout the house. Couple are small enough to take outside, when casting or just porch sitting. Listen to music or ball games using Sirius radio.

The phone I've had for over 2 years only has USB C or Bluetooth capabilities. I've got a set of Bluetooth creative speakers I use in my reloading gun room and then just Use Bluetooth earbuds when I cast.

Found this beauty at a resale shop last weekend. I had no use for it, but it reminded me of the one my father had in our garage as a kid.

I have an old 1980's Sony tuner/amp that I bought at Goodwill for $10 in the garage with a pair of cheap speakers from the same place hanging from the rafters. I have a double ended 1/8" mini plug going into the one of the aux ports to play my old iPhone on.

Hard to imagine not having some sort of audio to accompany me in the workshop when casting, or just working on something in general.

Ahh, 8 track players.
Sonos portable wi-fi speakers & soundbars, folks I visited Thurs have that, pretty neat. Look up a tune on phone and play it.
Fortuntely I have most of my music on CD and a radio/CD player. I can load to a thumb drive and download to Honda Music to play on trips. No CD player in the new cars.

I think I'm getting old, no CD players in cars and possibly soon to be , no AM radio either.

got a Pioneer home system with dual cassette's and a 35 disc CD player.
it's lasted a long time for a home system.

the wife sold my 8 track player and all the tapes i had for it during one of her famous sell everything my husband owns for a dollar since he is 1200 miles away and won't know about it yard sales.
it was a nice wood unit about 3' wide with built in speakers.

Better than my wife! "Yours is getting old and dusty, so I found three more at yard sales so you can have back ups"! Only woman I know who has nine (9) spatulas.
