At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
Must be spreading RB, I've had 2 nights of weird dreams that left me tossing and turning.

Best of luck and prayers to all facing health issues!

I hate to be the bearer of good news, but everything is both hunky and dory here at Thorn Hollow. If we are sick we don't know it. There's wood in the stove, birds at the feeder, fed and watered the neighbor's chickens this morning, made sure their outdoor wood burner is stoked. My biggest worry right now is what scope am I going to put on my 10-22 build.
We stopped by a good friend's home yesterday for a "kitty fix" as both of ours passed a few months apart late last Winter and early Spring. We are opting to exercise our travel freedom for awhile, but I'm sure we will adopt a couple of harder to place older cats in a few years.
Continued prayers and positive thoughts for all of my A&S friends dealing with unfortunate issues. May all of you have good outcomes. I believe the Mrs. and I will go ice fishing a little later.

Seems kinda odd. If they had it open why not do it all at once and be done? Sounds like they plan on doing it twice even though they knew they would be going in and doing over.
I kinda wondered about that as well; when mine was done the Surgeon had me scheduled as "Biopsy of Thyroid with Frozen Section; possible Total Thyroidectony" which means, if the Lab results return with a Dx of Cancer, they continue the procedure and remove the entire Thyroid. One procedure and done.

There is nothing wrong with my thyroid gland or any other organs in my neck. I have what is suspected to be a thymic tumor and half of it is below my collar bone, displacing my esophagus, left upper lung lobe, and putting pressure on my aorta. It will take both a thoracic surgeon and a head/neck surgeon working together to get it out.

I spent the early morning wondering why the gal in charge of maintenance hadn't changed the factory lube to milk in the windmill generator transmission yet. This morning trying to remember if I had Strawberry ice cream and pickles last nite.
Was decapping some 30/30 yesterday, after reading about the pigmy 303. So I pur one through the 40SW sizer. Neat, straight wall case with a parallel neck. Into 9mm sizer - more neat, kinda looks like a 32-20 case. Hmm, cut off the shoulder, run in 40sw and load a 40 bullet or 9mm and load a 358. No need for 350 legend (or stuffing filler in 30/30). If I had a 30cal sizer I'd try that. 180 gr 30 cal short case sounds interesting. 25% less space so some 2400 or unique and fun.
IIRC the needle biopsy is quicker (lab probably won't be) and as the area is near the carotid and other stuff specialty surgeons need to be ready. Had a lump in chest years ago, went to surgeon to discuss it. He said due to location, they could try biopsy but recommended removal by biopsy instead. Caviot was it could nick the aorta and then open chest surgery emergency. 'And by the look on your face we won't be doing it' - yup. Turned out it was a calcified lymph node - no problem. Lots of friends with encapsulated tumers - most get chemo to 'get' any strays after surgery.

The PA who was supposed to do the biopsy, together with a student nurse and two other RNs, scratched their collective heads for about 20 minutes trying to figure out how to get to the tumor through all the blood vessels. I think I'm more sore from the extendedn three stooges sonogram session than the needle. Finally the PA chickened out entirely and called the surgeon on duty to come do it. After waiting an hour for him to get finished saving someone's life in the ER (busted gall bladder, sepsis, endoscopic surgery) he came in and took a brief look, got set up, and went in about two inches away from where everyone else was trying and as a result I didn't bleed to death. Yay!

Glad I'm not the only one who has regressive or just plain weird dreams. Ice cream in the wind generator gearbox has to be near the top of all-time WTF dreams, though!

Last night, I dreamt the local gun store owner wanted to work out a trade for my .45 ACP Randall. I told him a 4 5/8" Ruger Blackhawk chambered in .44 Special would do for a start, but the dream ended before I could come up with something else to even the deal.

Now that I have the .223 Ruger American, the store's consignment carousel has a very nice .223 Howa with a rather large Bushnell for $399 . . .

wouldn't you get ice cream back out of the gear box?
meh. the ice cream maker thingy was invented by a woman anyway so nobody in their right mind will ever figure out how it works.

I dream a lot. Vivid dreams.
According to my wife, I have the weirdest dreams ever.
I sometime dream of TV shows that we watched the night before.
"The Walking Dead" always gave me the best dreams. Shooting slow moving zombies, and never running out of ammo was great.
My wife bought me a tee shirt that says"The hardest part of a zombie apocalypse is pretending I'm not excited".

Worked for the same company for 43 years. Started at the bottom and worked my way up to one of the top 4 people in a 100 employee engineering firm.
At 38 years, the owners son took over the company. I swear, he was bi-polar. One day trashing you like you were the worst f%@* up in the world and the next day, in your office like you had been lifelong childhood friends.
I had nightmares every night about work for the last five years I worked there. I was too old to change jobs and would give up too much in benefits.

My wife says she never remembers a single dream.

Used to be when I remembered dreams it was mostly flat muted colors with crazy bright color items . Some time in my 30s during a particularly difficult run of life the dreams became 5k vivid detail complete with 5.1 Dolby and surround scent . I'll never forget that one . Ducks weren't flying so I busted out the bass rig with about a 000 hook and completely inappropriate live bait ....... It started to rain which was when I noticed I could smell the tule mud , feel and hear the rain on my hat brim and the zodiac type boat rubbing the tules when I cast the line ...... More weird because I really don't care to fish much and I certainly wouldn't mess up a decoy spread with a top water bait .

Never dreamed about work and seldomly a coworker . Oddly enough I see X2 often and never in a bad way . X1 always seems to involve twisted metal and my car with me as a 3rd party ......

Didn't state the funny part, gal had hidden a pistol in the milk. Decipher that one!
Strawberry ice cream and pickles is supposed to be the expectant Mom's problem, causing weird dreams. So they say. Scrubbing floors is the other one - but if so I'm in trouble cause she does it at least 2x a week, in her 70s. And the floors are tile. Just me, her and a shitzu to get them dirty!

Sept. 10, 2021 Steve left us. You are missed.
The only time I remember a dream is if I'm awakened during. Probably just as well.

Got a boat & outdoor show here at the fairgrounds this weekend. Went this morning & found a UTV I'm kinda liking. Who needs money in the bank anyways? Think I'm gonna go back over there and get it. A guy does definitely need his toys ya know.

I still have recurrent related to 9/11 or stuff I saw on the job. Basically I'm trying to get someplace to help someone and I can't find the keys to the Troop car or I'm in traffic and people just won't move or no matter how fast I try to go I'm just crawling and since I can't get to where I need to be it just snowballs into blood, guts and disaster after that. Unless I'm dead tired I have these same dreams 5-20 times a month I'd guess. Some times they wake me, other times I just remember the dream in the morning. PITA.

Gonna try to get to the areas big guns show tomorrow. It's tiny by city standards, maybe 40-50 vendors on 6 foot tables, but it's better than a sharp stick in the eye.

My wife invited me out for a birthday breakfast. The restaurant has new owners and they have really spiffed up the place, though we both said the food was just so-so. I had my usual SOS on biscuits, and potatoes.
The new owners are Filipinos, so my wife tried a lumpia, but it was so-so, too. I don't care for any kind of Asian food and passed.

Midway is offering their birthday pricing, and though I keep looking nothing is twisting my arm.

Well, happy birthday Michael!

Rick, you deserve an ATV, I'm kind of surprised John hasn't worn you down into getting one already. Now you'll have to clear some paths on your new lot just to hav an excuse to ride, and probably to find more firewood to cut for next year.
