bet it will mar your thumb some no problems.

Santa made it to town tonight.
actually a pretty decent one.
had a DJ in the back of a trailer.
not a decent one, but he tried.
and a fire truck blinding everyone with their lights.

anyway we got to stand around in a snow storm for bout 45 minutes, had some watered down cocoa with marshmallows, then watched the G-kid cry for a second and come home.

Hauled a trailer load of brush to the dump, got eight sacks of quickcrete from the homestore, stopped by tractor supply for some galvanized tie wire, drove across town and picked up a Noble Fir Christmas tree, got lunch, headed home and got the tree on the stand and watered down, ate lunch, pulled the left lift cylinder apart on the Bobcat, replaced all the seals, got it buttoned back up, then headed off to the corner of the property so I could chain onto the 13' x 6.5" pipe and set it down in the hole. Got that all situated and concreted in place, then hauled a fresh roll of fence wire down there, rolled it out and stood it up....by flashlight.

Good luck Kevin. If you need help with anything give me a ring, I'll be going through in a couple days on the way to SD.

Today was interesting! Bought a low end 1911 for two of my boys to eventually play with. Field stripping it, hosed up, locked it up and had to learn how to detail disassemble it! Was successful (started working on upgrades on a cpl others with a buddy who is versed in it). AND, I was able to get it all apart, AND back together - AND no extra parts (unless they fell on the floor!). Also was able to tell a friend what three of his old inherited guns were - 1894 Webley/1964 Colt/Old Smith HE. Was lucky enough to agree to purchase one, and eventually another, once we determine a fair value to both parties. Very good day indeed!

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
Worked on a a broken water pipe under a house trailer most of yesterday. Only took one run to town for parts and stopping at 2 stores to find them all. Did I ever mention I hate galvanized water pipe? Why people use 3 or 4 different types of piping that requires mix and match shopping for parts is beyond me. Black plastic to galvanized to brass to a pre-PEX type mobile home flexible plastic (forget the name) to PEX to galvanized (for a whopping 8"!) back to PEX, I don't know what the mobile home plastic is but you have to use soft copper compression fittings and tie into something else (PEX in my case) because no one makes the old stuff anymore. The good part was that oldest boy showed up to do 95% of the crawling around under the trailer. Even with knee pads on I made 2 trips under and it ached all night.

Youngest girl had a friend over. Giggling girls...all night long. Forgot how my definition of "quiet" differs from a teenage girls definition!

Back to grey skies and drizzle today. Yuck!

I will be shoveling a few inches of heavy wet snow. Wait, that isn’t snow, that is a heart attack waiting to happen.

That's what I did as a kid, shoveled the whole neighborhood pretty much. Snow was money in the bank for me. :)

Guy across the street has a couple branches on his drive, will likely end up helping him.

Will be back home this PM, fortunately missed the early snowfall of 6" and it is all gone.
And the current mess is predicted to stay clear of us.

YAY! Still have to get the mower deck off the tractor and the snow blade, wheel weights (not that
kind) and the chains installed - SOON.

Well i am home safe and sound from the hospital. Overnite was all they could take of me.
It was only painfull for about 5 hrs after i woke up. Haven't had much discomfort except muscle knitting them self back together. 3 laproscopic incisions was all he cut. The worst part for me was when the nurse pulled the drain tube out just before i left.

Spent a few hours in the garage making big piece of 7075 into little piece of 7075.

That was after clearing the snow.

Glad to heart it was minimally invasive, Kevin. That laparoscopic surgery sure helps healing
by minimizing all the slicing needed for access. Best wishes for a swift recovery.
