Cabin fever

Guys, cabin fever is setting in.

This is all supposed to be fun!

I fear that it will get a bit bumpy going forward. I ask that you all help keep those bumps small.

We all need to step back and rethink our posts. Don’t take things others say personally. Don’t allow a damn Internet forum ruin your life.

We all have different backgrounds, upbringings, and interests. In the end what binds us is a common love of all things related to bullet casting and shooting. Keep that in mind going forward.

Amen. Everyone I know and all the people I see at work are on edge. As a bonus, people in the grocery stores are extra-polite and very orderly, in a sort of quietly terrified way, like decency is the only glue holding the eggshell floor together beneath their feet. Maybe it is and always has been and we can't take that for granted, at the store, or here.

Hah! I am doing extra duty helping the wife with direct care in the group home she runs. If I am gonna loose my mind, it will be her and I having to spend triple time together! lol! Here, and like it, are my respite. Love to see/hear what you guys are doing to keep sane. Helps me do the same! And some of the thread tangents are a hoot - we can be like free range chickens! But that is something that adds to the fun!

Brad, I absolutely agree. People all over the world are affected by the current situation with the pandemic. Fear/aggression closer to the surface than normal. At these times, it is more important than ever to adhere to the forum rules concerning political statements, to keep the friendly and educational environment of the forum.

I am working on week 3 of self inflected self isolation. Weather is not cooperating. The wife and I get along good so as of now, we are still getting along.
This is a nice site and now and then there are posts made that I don't care for, but I have learned a long time ago to just let things go.

Had to take some our tax returns to another home this morning. For awhile I was watching the police stop all the private owned vehicles for documents and why they were driving. But no one "smart mouthed" the police so no one was dragged out on the street.
Over 10,000 have been detained for infractions of the curfew and forgetting to be reasonably polite.

Well Brad....could do some machine shop work....maybe a case sizer ...hint hint! Just joking! ;)

I'm finding it hard to be in my shop these days!
Ok to do casting & PC coating but just can't commit to one big project. Seems to be an uneasiness every day of sorts....I can't go to the range....but have to risk my life to go out to the store once a week!
The most calm time I have found is playing "Hidden Object " games from Big Fish with my wife every day in the after noon for an hour or two on the computer.
Probably the only semblance of order I have recently

We have just had the shelter in place (house arrest) extended until the end of April. That means our company is sitting idle for the upcoming month. Me? Idle? HELL NO! Herself has a honey do list and keeps adding to it! Been painting the kitchen the last 4 days. Tomorrow ought get it finished then on to the rest of the house. Last week we transplanted about 80 Rose of Sharon bushes. Got about 30 more to move. Glad I can still do it. Next big project is to gut the living room, rewire, hang board, mud, tape and paint. Been a while since either of us has done that so it will be interesting!

Stay healthy all. I’m just getting to know you and like what I am learning.

On a brighter note, concerning shelter-in-place et al......

Earlier today in my home town a late-teens male subject decided that it would be fun to try sneaking around in his neighbor's back yard and peeking into windows. MAJOR FAUX PAS, for this criminal mastermind.

I don't know what he was thinking, but successful daytime residential burglary pivots heavily upon OCCUPANTS NOT BEING HOME. You know--like, away at work? DUDE--EVERYBODY IS AT HOME.

Adult female inside the victim residence sees idiot in back yard and yells at him to GTFO of there. He elects to do so, and is going over side yard gate as Mama emerges from front door with baseball bat, and gives chase. Idiot runs, and steals a scooter from a driveway several houses from the victim residence to get some distance from Bat Wielding Mama. Owner of scooter is in his front yard as theft occurs, and joins chase with Bat Lady as the crook flees briefly before falling from the scooter and taking leave on foot for parts unknown.

This does not go unnoticed by neighbors. Even in Kalifornistan, a 35 year old woman running up the street in a bathrobe--bat in hand at 10:30 A.M.--is not a common occurrence. Neighbors start calling 9-1-1, and PD cars roll in while Sheriff's airship arrives soon thereafter. Much fun was had by all.

Being a burglar or a peeping Tom can be a very tough job in times such as these.

Talk about social distancing : a guy around my parts was tested positive and his wife was admitted to deliver their baby in a local hospital! This idiot lied about his medical status and got in the hospital to visit his wife and newborn! Now everyone that came in contact with him is quarantined ! This guy should be shot! Putting his wife and newborn and the rest of the hospital in jeopardy !

Brad I could not agree more about what we write and how we write it. That's a problem for me sometimes, and I would like to say that I never, and I mean never, would knowingly insult anyone. But I also don't realize that my wording or something has offended someone. I am a very happy jovial person, who just naturally likes to needle people. So don't let your fuse get lit over something I write, I don't mean any harm.
These are tough times and the economy is going to go way south, which will make things far worse.... Hang in there neighbor, it will be a rough road.
Wife has been in the Valley about 35 days, and I'v been here about 18 days. Went to town today to pick up supplies to fill out our pantry. Really did not "need" to make a run, but, I only had about 4 days left of half and half for my coffee. Can't let that stand. So I put my N95 mask on (more as a reminder not to touch my face) my latex gloves and off I went. Noticed that gas a one station down to $2.49 on the in, and 3 hours later on the way out it was down to $2.09 at the same station. Anyway, it was spooky. Lots of stuff closed, not many cars at the grocery stores, but it was early. Picked up my stuff (got enough half and half for at least a month) and headed home. Don't plan on leaving either. Like it here. Quite. My wife is my best friend, so I'm lucky. Only thing the kids and grand kids are in the northwest. Can't get there if they need help. Can't even drive, can't get through Canada.
You guys are a good bunch, a few are a bit twitchy, but, lay off the coffee and you will be fine. Had to buy my wife 2 fifths of Pendleton's. Coffee for me and whisky for Karyn. Karyn's my best friend, but I think I might drive her a little nuts, hence the whisky.
