What a bunch of nerds.

On the other hand I can recall my daughter being in about 7th grade complaining that a couple of boys kept call g her a nerd. I told her not to worry because in time those same boys would be calling her “Boss”.

Hate to break it to you all, but anybody that handloads and fiddles with the intricacies of precision cast bullets as a hobby could be called nothing less than a.......nerd.

I think that is a large part of what draws us to the hobby.

I kind of realized that yesterday talking to my neighbor.
he reloads, sort of, but has got to the point a box of ammo is a years supply.
he asked me a question about something when we were both outside yesterday, and 5 minutes in I realized I had gone waaay too far with the answer.

then I also realized I manage to do pretty much the same thing with everything I do.
it's overdone, over drawn out, over engineered, over picked at for perfection, and over built.
so pretty much how I like it... LOL.

and for the record I like my sci-fi grade B movie style, or in a complete series like DUNE,, the original of the bunch.

Stay safe, Brad. Chicago is a dangerous town.

May The Force be with you.....the Chicago Police Force.

We will be pretty much in the downtown area exclusively. No late nights. No secluded streets.
Situational awareness is my friend when out of town.

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
Agreed. I quit watching Trek the first time Picard asked Counselor Troi what her "feelings" were on the situation at hand which was a death-match standoff against a Ferengi ship. Really? %)@(%$ send the photon torpedoes, ya pantywaist!

I think the sole reason STNG was watchable for me was strictly because Counselor Troi was parading around in that body stocking! It sure wasn't for Wesleys value as a character.

"The Thing from Another World". Now THAT is sci-fi!

And 7 of 9 saved Voyager .
Why is it that everyone hates on Wesley ? I mean in all actuality 89-94 for most of the 25-34 fan base he should have been one of most relatable characters . I mean really he was the pizza face , over smart , fumbling social skills , mature passed his age , raging hormones making him do stupid things to impress the girls ...... surrounded by much older women that encouraged that with "thats so cute , I wish my HS BF had done that" , slightly older women that thought he was sweet but too young and nobody really his age to interact with that didn't want to use his brains or considered him a teacher's pet dork . Maybe that's just me .

I just couldn't get into Enterprise .......... Recently I watched it from 1/1 much better than dropping in in the middle .

Dune was all the way rage ...... Sure ok sci-fi drug Lord's and slave labor . No interest for me but maybe it was just the movie .

Somehow I missed the others . I don't think I missed a lot though .

True guilty pleasure ?
I love Alien , all of them and not just because Segorny Weaver kicked their askii 7x .
I loved Preditor . Next time while it pans the "trophy room" in #2 check out the wall a frame or 2 at a time . The acting and script was just bad up to the 3rd one and the cross over actors ....... Why does I'll be bock get all glory ? Some body says Arnnoold around me and go right straight to " you're one ugly mother...... " well you know the line .

Last GP ? Spaceballs . It's so stupid ! It breaks every film production rule from the 4th wall to never pun-splain the joke or laugh at your own joke . " I see you have the Schwartz , I to have the Schwartz, an my Schwartz is bigger than yours" . " Gahhh it's space herpies " .
While Mel was writing it I think he was borrowing props and figuring out how to write them in .

Voyager was far and away the worst of the Trek series. Could have been one of the better until the producers wife (7 of 9) took over completely and the series was changed from Voyager to the 7 of 9 show. The Captian couldn't even go to the bathroom without 7 of 9 explaining to her the proper procedure.

Spaceballs is my least favorite movie by Mel Brooks.

And we are now sitting at OMA awaiting a flight.

Since we're talking movies "Young Frankenstein" is probably our most quoted movie, with "Zorro. The Gay Blade" next.

Young Frankenstein followed by Blazing Saddles. Campfire scene is classic Mel Brooks. Also liked High Anxiety.

Not sci-fi or fantasy but I still love 2-1/2 Men for totally non-PC humor. Wife hates it which makes me like it even more.
