Gun Show " Toy "

I was often berated by a guy for not loading even everything to the gills.

I've done a fair amount of accuracy loading in both rifles and handguns and I have yet to find the maxed out load to be the accurate load.

I think I had one that did better the faster I went with it. [7wsm]
it was gonna need a bunch more work to make it shoot 'good' so I took the dollar loss and sent it down the road.

I've got a Savage SS 06 that really got "interesting" once past published data.It just kept getting more accurate the more 4350 that got forced in.It became an issue with flattened primers.Don't take this as any sort of endorsement,it ain't .

It ended up being just a touch over"book",one load pkg.

But back onto the OP...gun show "finds" last weekend.Duckboy and I were in Richmond,we left a MINT Interarms commercial Mauser on the table for a little over 300.

Gotta give the boy credit,he listened to my stories about going to Interarms in Alexandria, back in the day.Heck,we even got to be known by the staff. So,it was with much consternation that we didn't snag it,and it won't because of $$....

One of those stories we'll kick ourselves over,oh well.Am happy that Ben got his rig. Those scopes have a little thick reticle, but they are tuff.

You, your shoulder, and fun will run out long before the gun is stressed.
On a now defunct forum I was often berated by a guy for not loading even everything to the gills. Seems loaded a gun below max is a sissy move. Well, this sissy learned long ago that shooting for fun and pain don't go together.

Brad - YEP - totally agree! with both shoulders rebuilt, I MUCH prefer to shoot medium/light loads and cast. They will kill any paper I will ever see, and betting the same with any deer or hog or yote I come across to! And I can shoot a whole lot more and have a lot more fun!
