the 360 is taking a beating too.
got an M-type die?
I know it sucks , BUT you might be setting another die head up to prep the cases with then slip in the second to flair the mouth drop the powder and load with.
you might also want to looking for some 38-S&W dies to do the finish work with.

I think he uses a Dillon and I bet the powder funnel expander measures .354 or so. Might be better off with a .357-.358 expander.

Yep, my Dillon powder funnel measures just under .354. Those bullets are getting way too much neck tension.

So, how much tension is needed for a 357? I would think .002 would be plenty.

He may not need one made. He said he has a Cowboy set, maybe he'll measure that expander.

But that won’t work with his Dillon. Well, he could size separately, then expand, then use the Dillon to prime, dump powder, and seat/crimp.
Kinda destroys the point of a progressive.

The pc is fine at the bottom of the bullet, which means the part sitting down in the flare is not getting scraped off as the bullet is seated....which means the inside of the case walls aren't doing the scraping and even at .354" the expander isnt the problem, neither is the amount of flare....at first. I think the seating die is too tight for bullets this large and is closing the flare down on the bullet as it enters the die body and the case mouth is skinning off the coating as the bullet is seated the rest of the way.

Open the seating die up about two thousandths and the problem should go away. A light chamfer to deburr the ragged case mouths might help too, especially when the bullets break the crimp and the coating gets shredded as they are fired.

I had major issues with my Hornady seater with a .433 bullet. It actually held the bullet above the crimp groove well enough to make it easy to pull bullets right after seating them!
