Wow Keith must have found the "one". I've never found one worth $%^&. I rank them on the ladder of life right with pedophiles.

Several lawyer friends and acquaintences over the years. So far, only one was a slimeball.
But that is one out of six, so not a great percentage. One is a politician, one of the good guys.

I had a cousin that was a lawyer. Nicest fellow you would ever hope to meet. From a small town and genuinely wanted to help people. Not so interested in making money.

Well, to an extent. I don't consider myself one of the "we's". EVERY election cycle I vote against ALL incumbent Judges and judicial officers. My way of trying to rid the system of slag.

Our lawyer in the family was a decent guy , Owen Hughes . Worked out of Nashville , born in 1888 he was a combat veteran , serving artillery in France WWI . He returned to Nashville after the war working law until 1942 . After that war he retired .

Of course there's more when don't I write stuff like this .

My second cousin when to law school on the insurance settlement from her sisters death in a private plane crash .......sad story often used to illistraight make every word kind you might have to live with them your whole life .
After passing the Tennessee Bar , intern time etc , she went to a Nashville firm of good reputation . Shortly after starting she was taking time walk the firm's hall of partners . All but one of the pictures had a brass tag identifing the partner and time line , etc . Wouldn't you know it , nobody knew the guy except the new girl . So the next day she brought in a copy of the picture from home marked Owen Hughes , My great-grandfather Nashville , March 18 , 1932 .

Personally , I've needed a lawyer thrice . The first time the mention of his name and retainer fixed the problem for pennies on the accusations and locked out the negotiations . Dog ticket ........ Looking at $5000 for an over sensitive neighbor , who's cat I'd thrown out the doggy door in the summer time more times than I can count .
The second one needed a cattle prod and his chair hot wired to hot fence to keep him motivated for a NV divorce .
The 3rd was almost as good as the first , he cost me more than the first 2 combined but was worth every glorious penney to see the X above sitting there with her jaw all agape and the stupified look in her eyes when the judge read her decision and ever so politely handed her her posterior seating fixture . I swear I think I actually saw her hair wilt .

Had need of attorneys on at least 4 occasions. Two were pretty good, two were worthless, but still cost me 2 to 3K each. Spent some years in law enforcement as a young adult, plus Mother & Father both retired from law enforcement. Spent enough hours in and around courts to know that there are an awful lot of lawyers who deserve the 'bottom feeder' reputation that many assign to them.

The L-Word. IME, about 30% are good decent people who strive mightily to do the right things for the right reasons. 40% drift about hustling work as best they can, and aren't remarkable for being especially decent or egregiously scandalous. The remaining 30% are the bottom-feeding low-life ambulance-chasing pedophile-defending cop-killer-cheerleading excrement that Rick spoke of above. (I do have my biases. Forgive me.)

There have been times in my life when I likely should have had legal representation, and did not. I survived, but it was dicey and accordingly stressful. We fault lawyers for the idiotic case decisions made by our wingnut judiciary, but let's remember that it took a plaintiff seeking a payday to start the music--and once in a while, it is completely justified. Erin Brockovich comes to mind in this context.

But who is the judiciary but ambulance chasers that write their own summation.

Probably a good one out there someplace but I've yet to live long enough to find him. But hey, I'm only 70.

good choice in materials.

what a day.
went down to shoot as usual.
we had a pretty good turn out so someone decided to start a 10$ pot that paid 50-30-20 based on raw score.
I figured why not it's a decent day and my eyes are working pretty okay and threw in.
got to the first station and the bottom of my boot fell off,,, I was kind of flustered [actually more pissed off than anything, I liked those boots] and missed the first target, then run a 99 straight to take second place.
made about 15$ less than the new boots cost me at Sportsmans warehouse which was the only place open besides Wal-Mart on Sunday so I ended up spending another 35$ on top of the boots.

at least I don't have to listen to everyone give me hell about the only way I could win was to cut the bottom off someone's boot... poor Joe.
bonus though, he was shooting N.O.S. federal gold medal hulls today so I got to pick up a nice supply of those from him.

Like most middle class folk I have always been one to pay my bills and do so promptly. We adopted both our children and paid the legal fees when we were billed. They both had some task they were to do after the adoption and as so as our checks cleared all work ceased. We ended up doing the final touches ourselves.
Had another lawyer on a property sale drone on on how important it was to have proper documentation. I signed my name and verified that the spelling was correct as printed. When my warranty deed came back for the property it had the wrong initial. He complained when I told them I wanted it corrected and I explained to him his lecture and that I was the one paying attention. I got a whited out typed over copy and had to sell it by using an incorrtct middle initial. I will do all I can to avoid interaction with them in the future.

I've worked for a bunch of lawyers. Get'm about half lit and they can provide some cheap entertainment? Think the tax law guys are my favs?

The last one,on the hire, was ok. Wife and I got a real will drawn up..... we were using a napkin left on the table.Legal in Virginia. So as a,seems like the right thing to do.... we got a referral for a good lawyer. It was straight fwd, mostly. It was fun watching his eyes light up when he was sighting the advantage of having all the boys as equal executors....... in a,kinda flippin off the system sort of way, that crosses the politeness lines of reasonable discussion. But,as he started to spell it out for the wifey, his grin kept getting more sly..... I cut him off with a,"got it".Explained to wifey later. So,can say my last lawyer was a good one.

Mounted the new to me,B$L 3-9X40 balvar scope I literally stole off ebabe.

Took the POS.... but does hold zero.... Chinese 4-12 package scope off the 7-08. Guys keep giving me these pkg scopes? I was using it on the 7-08 because it was getting drug out in nasty weather and just plain didn't want to subject anything nicer? Well that and good optics cost money. I mean the 4-12 works..... but is very bad in several key areas....doh.

So the balvar got it's reticle centered and checked some other things, clean bill of health. So it sat on the reloading bench for a month or so since stealing it. Put it on today. It's more clear than some of my Luepolds.... and makes the Chinese stuff look really bad.

Wind is @5-10 mph.... just wait for a calm condition and jerk one off. Took 3 or 4 shots after using the trusty old Bushnell ( Japan) bore sighter.... to get dialed in. It's clear enough that I was back to making bug holes. Which honestly surprised me.Thought that the 12X was helping more? Well, maybe a little but, this HV load/rig is a hammer so when you get a very clear 9X with,I might add,a much better/finer crafted reticle.... it cancelled out the X setting.

Cool enough temps and having to wait for the wind to settle..... kept shooting. Something I don't normally do as 37g of Varget will warm up a sporter barrel pretty durn quick. Usually just RIP off a 5 shot group and then either hit the woods or go back to working on something. Fat barrels are for longer strings. Anyway, really happy with the 16$ balvar.

Somebody.... Ian,Brad,Keith,or anyone else.I forget who's tooled up with what these days? Needs to make an adjustable lube sizer die for Lyman/RCBS style luber. Make it to adjust within the normal range for the calibre. For instance,.356 thru .359 other cals get other ranges.

I'm too lazy to do it.... and don't really size too much these days. Little nose bumping here n there.... and some very easy to accomplish GC seating.
