Today I turned 65. Will work in the shop to cut up some 20' rods into 3-3/4" lengths this morning, got a 1000 piece order we need to run across the CNC lathe. After lunch I get to see the eye doctor and get an injection in my left eye. This evening I have to teach a hydraulics lab, since I won't be able to drive the apprentice (he is auditing the labs) will drive me and help out. Going to be a long day, I'll be able to rest a little tomorrow.

Happy birthday to you. "Another year older and deeper in debt." Too bad about the ophthalmic work, but I hope you can enjoy the rest of your day.

Tasha the Malamute puppy is 6 months old today.

Happy birthday Keith. :)

I spent the morning in a dentist chair. :( What great fun . . . Not! About right now the drugs are wearing off, not good. On the bright side I don't have to go back for three weeks. :(

Happy birthday Keith.

Been doing some stock work and bedding. We went from single digit cold the other day to mid 50's and rain today. If the wind will die down may make it into the woods.

Thanks for kind wishes. I was just finishing lunch, getting ready for shower, when one of our newer customers ordered about $3500 worth of lathe work. Good thing I started teaching again part time at U, I found two guys (twin brothers) in class who want to work for me, they have been driving 150+ miles every weekend to go home to work for a lot less than I will pay them. They have worked during and since high school part time in an old line machine/fab shop doing scut work. I plan to sit them down in front of a couple CNC machines and do clean, smart work. More later.

Happy Birthday, KeithB!

This morning was spent doctoring with the cardiologist. The heart meds regiment I came out of the hospital with in November continues to do good work, so they stay in place for another couple months. A good thing--I haven't felt this good since I started seeing the cardio folks 4 years ago. Tomorrow morning I get the new prosthetic foot and ankle from the Fake Foot Foundry, and some instruction on getting around with it. Now the work starts. Happy about that, too.

It's 1º F right now, took a walk around the neighborhood. Not many days that I get to wear this Marten hat...and today is one of those days. The weatherman says there are several more of these days to come over the next two weeks,,,possibly some kind of record?

Happy birthday Kieth !

I started my refresher course on vinyl siding I've never done before , it is strikingly similar to metal siding .
Got the floor walls and ceilings done .... Finally .
I think I have enough knowledge , skills , and experience on somebody else's dime to do mine right .

New red fir cut circa 1927 ceiling center , salvage T&G pine on the pitchs cut circa 1965-72 , floor salvage acia 2013 . Compared to the roof the floor was a breeze . 1370 sqft at the end of it all , the wall box is a tri fold door that houses a 65" flat screen TV , it has weathered metal accents ala' Texas Roadhouse .
It actually is much nicer than I expected .

I got a few nice pieces of acia I think it will make some really attractive grips for the overhauled/reworked 1917 .
