Well, tumbled some 9mm brass in my new SSTM tumbler, 1/8 top Lemi shine and 2 tbsp dawn..Got a lot of cases the now have bluish greenish discolorization.
What have I done wrong and are they OK to shoot, ie did I leach something out of the brass to weaken it?

Sounds like something oxidized the brass. No big deal. But I personally refrain from adding anything to the walnut shell media. My cases come out clean and shiny with nothing.

Only time I use soap is for BP cases after shooting them. Actually used to bring a plastic jug of water with Dawn in it and after the match, decap the cases and drop them into the jug for a soak on the ride home. The cases would be much cleaner when I got home. Then I'd swab each case with a wood jag and a patch using a small screw gun to clean the inside using that same water. Then into the ultrasonic cleaner, rinse, rinse in denatured alcohol and hang up under the heater vent in the basement to dry in a net bag. Never put those in a tumbler as it was no needed after the cleaning regimen I followed. Cases were various colors like they'd been case hardened. But that never hurt them. Shot the same 60 cases for years. Still have them in my cabinet somewhere.

Yeah, I agree I don't think it's gonna be anything. That's a problem. If it really bothers you, you might be able to throw them in the old Tumblr with the walnut shell and rub it off.

1/8 top (?) Lemi shine and 2 tbsp dawn? I use maybe one teaspoon dawn or washer liquid, sprinkle some lemi in it, about 3/4 full water. Only run about 1/2 hr. No green on mine. Is it on the inside as well as the outside? Might try light loads and see.
Yup, she said I should do Vit D3 to help. We'll see.

Menards has their four foot LED shop lights on sale quite often, for $9.95 after mail-in rebate (they actually measure 44")
I have a few boxes of them in my stash, but haven't installed any yet.
I will be rewiring my Garage this summer, maybe I install them in there?

Since I now have enough .243 bullets to last me awhile....Today I decide to cast with my NOE 30 caliber 165 Ranch Dog mould.
This is my favorite target bullet in my Savage 340 30 WCF! Since I shoot most of them sub sonic I love to hear the "Thwack" when they hit the target plus they leave clean holes in the paper similar to a wad cutter.
We finished up lunch early so I was able to turn on the pot at about 12:30 pm!
Was casting by 1 pm but it was cold with my basement door open and fans blowing! I had to pause to come upstairs and put warmer clothes on and also heavy wool socks. Basement floor was very cold! Outside it was a really cold damp......at 33 degs

Cast for exactly 1 hour and got about 150 Plain base and 150 Gas check bullets. The gas check bullets I shoot without checks because both the plain and gas check versions are powder coated And at Low Node Velocities I see no difference in accuracy.
I plain based one cavity of this mould via the "Ben" method,,,came out great!
My try to get one more casting session in tomorrow before the predicted "Storm-a-gedden" occurs! We haven't had winter weather all January so now that we may get some snow the news stations are going crazy scaring everybody! Wasn't very creative supper wise yesterday and today , just some gifted so so restaurant pizza.
Oh, last night I ordered 1 lb of Smoke's Super durable Clear PC! My favorite yet I'm sitting on a bunch of his color powders here!
May try to list them here if there is some interest. They all work great but I'm just not into colored bullets...I like to see my lead!

These days I use a smart phone hundreds of times for every time I use a gun. I don't bother looking for new <$100 gun. Value for dollars expended.

Edited to include I'm still using an Iphone 7.
It's that whole consumable part that kills me ..... I hate that I spend what I spend for phones if I spent it on a gun I'd still have it in good serviceable shape in 10,15,20 years and I could sell it for double maybe more . The phone is used up and obsolete or unsupported in 3-5 yr if I bought it a new battery at around 2 yr .

Boy! What a feed we had! I dunno what I did to the relatively cheap roast Cindy picked up, but that sucker came out PERFECT!!! Just like my Grandfather used to roast for the restaurant. Deeee-licious! There was all sorts of other food too, but I pigged out on beef. Everyone was stuffed to the gills, so it must all have been good!

No need to fret and fume over which phone to get. Matt and The Angel showed up for the feed and presented me with a Motorola they got for me. Took me a while to get it set up and semi-figured out, but I'm calling it good enough.

I bought several of the LED shop type lights at Harbor Fright. While the price is nice, they seem to be hit or miss for me. Some last for years, other die in 10-11 months. Same thing for the ones TSC (Tractor Supply) sells. Some work, some don't. They sure are nice when they do work though.

Got off work at 5am. Laid down till 8am
Got up and been running ever since.
Got the storage finaly emptied out and cleaned up. Inspected and turned in key. Got my $50 deposit back.
Found press parts and two garbage bags of 20 guage shells, in storage. I took those home .
So one major deal finaly finished.
Took the $50 to the local gun shop and spent twice that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
Got my shot press together. Tinkered with it made a list of what it needs. Cleaned it and oiled it up .
Found a couple things in my storage, that may work with it
Was missing the drop tube. But I wanted to run #4 shot thru it any way, and it would have been an issue with the stock drop tube. Ordered an improved Drop tube for it so #4shot will drop ok thru it.
Cleaning and doing som modification on some other parts I had found in storage.
To get the press where I want it.
Took a range trip with my Boy, Shot over 100 rounds between all the test loads I had made up and the rounds I took to have fun with after testing. Of course I did only bring back 75 brass out
of the hundred we shot.
Stripped up the flooring in the living room, the sub floor is getting week I places. We just got got back from buying a couple area rugs to put down ill I get the sub floor ripped up and fixed.
Just cracked open a pint of Beer and made myself a roast chicken delli sandwich. I think I might be done for the day.

Hey anytime is a great time for sushi. My boss lived in Japan as an exchange student for 4 years! His first breakfast with his new family was fish!
Then he went to school.
So As you can imagine anytime he took me out for a meal it was the best sushi places! And he knew how to pick them and knew how to order for us, Some of the best meals I ever had! Three times in New York City he bought me a Japanese meal! The first time it was the best Sushi I ever had! Before that time I never had it! The next two times was smoked eel in a wooden box! Wow that was the best! Don't eat sushi much anymore since he retired and moved to Hilton Head...But my wife and I joined him for a meal down there and the sushi was excellent! He special ordered me 2 Sea Urchins because I said I always wanted to try them! Well my first was my last and I feel bad because I could not eat the 2nd one! Yuck!

Mitty- that's the problem with those bottom feeding guns, they throw brass everywhere!

Another just under 30F, dark, dreary day here. I haven't really done anything in a couple days. I'm going to give something a shot today, not sure what. Still hacking and gagging up green slime, waiting for the anti-biotics, or good old Mother Nature, to kick my system free of this version of The Plague. Gotta do something productive today!

We've started walking for exercise. The mid Winter blahs are here and we are planning a trip to Texas. Fishing in Mid Winter tends to be poor so we will be doing touristy stuff like hiking in National Wildlife Refuges and bird sanctuaries. We will be on the Gulf so I want to eat seafood. I bought new shoes, Brooks Glycerins, and can recommend them highly. They almost do the walking for me.

So we walk two miles a day, and depending on what condition our little town road is in and how cold and windy it is. Our two mile times have varied from 40 down to 34 minutes. We have 16 miles in so far and this time instead of developing aches and pains, every day gets easier. We are lucky to live where we do, so far in 16 miles and 8 days we have seen two cars and one was the nearest neighbor turning into her driveway.

I know it isn't really work, and I don't get quite the sense of accomplishment I do from cutting, splitting, and stacking a face cord of fire wood, but it is pretty darned satisfying and I dare say I feel younger and peppier.
