I just noticed that my post was deleted with the comment "Enough is enough". What did I do wrong?? It was a link to an article about CO2 emissions which seemed appropriate with the major smoke problem going on right now. It wasn't political, it wasn't anything but a recap of history and data regarding CO2 and how it interacts with life on the planet. I thought if nothing else, it was informative. Was it too far off topic? Was it deemed political? I'm struggling with understanding what rule I broke. I even went as far as to re-read the forum rules and even had to look up Godwin's Law and I don't think I broke any rules. I understand that the forum is owned by someone and if they say NO it's NO. But I truly did not think I was offending, breaking rules or getting political.

Please tell me why??

I got email complaint about the direction of the thread, so I cut it off short. Wasn't as much your post as it was the direction the thread was heading.

touched on the not underbrush thing i assume.

all i got is suck it up back there.
8 foot of snow in the winter and fire smoke all summer,, it's a way of life out west.
we actually would benefit highly from a couple of good fires around here.

done my least favorite thing in the garden today, i went and halfheartedly thinned out some plants.
after all the trouble i go through to get them to germinate and grow i really hate to pluck out most of them and throw them in the recycle box.

i did pick 3.5 lbs. of baby spinach this morning.
that'll get to grow for a couple of weeks before i pick them apart and then let the good ones go to the end.

Because of the not infrequent4 fires, a local sailboater nuanced "Red Sails In the Sunset" and named his boat
"Red Sun In the Sailset."

Took this picture a mile from my house, July 23, '16. My niece came close to having to evacuate, and a friend of hers lost her house.

Okay. I must push back a bit and say that choosing my post was a bit unfair. And it also pains me a bit that you have to get private emails from members whining about the direction of a thread. I would like to think that everyone here is able to take constructive criticism from other members without getting their panties in a bunch and should not feel that they need to run to you to spank someone. But it is what it is. I understand that I'm a guest here and need to toe the line. To draw an analogy, I did not jump on the grenade to help save my buddies. Somebody pushed me onto the grenade.

So, is the article about the history of CO2 levels in the atmosphere acceptable to post? It simply summarizes how the Earth evolved wrt CO2 and then relates it to current times and what the future may hold. I found it extremely enlightening. What was interesting is it was written by someone who once ran Greenpeace and has since left because he thinks they have lost their way.

Last day at the theme park .

Ms finally hit unload crash , that was mildly inconvenient. She has I'm sure migraines and they range from just headache and lights too bright to a full disconnect shutdown ......the cast and crew are awesome and we had a smooth unobtrusive exit . 14 hours of sleep , good as ever .

Went to the community grills , putt-putt, shuffle board , hoops and did a bunch of brats (works both ways, kids and sausage) . It's amusing to watch people. Why am I hungry ? Can we go eat ? What time did you guys eat ? About 1:30 . It's only 5:30 ?.? I know . Right ?
Meat and fire will do it every time. :) :) !!!

What I lack in charcoal gauging skills I made up for in perfect timing in the cooking. Kingsford doesn't taste like I remember it tasting . Grilled unshucked corn for one of the kids (his deal is extra mayo , no mustard , light ketchup, double cheese , and 2 large pickle slices . Not 1 , not 3 small , not mixed sizes , 2 ....everytime we order anything, the boy could make a Broadway production out of a grilled cheese sandwich) because that's the only way he will eat corn , cob or otherwise.

Should be a comfortable day in the park today.

Ms has breakfast ready as we mop up the leftovers.

A bit crazy here...

Our Anniversary was Wednesday. 25 Years, we had planned an Alaska Cruse but that disappeared over last four years being on comp with this knee. Then further became an impossibility when my wife was struck with this Palsy.
But we are planning a family get together here this Saturday.
Well, its quite a task getting house, Yard, Wife, Drs, Therapys, Nursing and PT visits food shopping, Food preparation's... Family coming in for party Friday afternoon too!

But, Dr @ noon today involves getting a ride cause momma is wheel chair bound and I cannot get her into any of our vehicles. So extra hour plus. Getting her washed and ready. (Food Meds and Dress ...)

Afterwards, Home to clean straighten plus meals for us and reg laundry and dishes... Starting baked ziti pans for Saturday. Then cut grass and trim hedge. Then sweep driveway and walks...

IM GONNA HAVE TA SLEEP ALL DAY SUNDAY... ooh wait nope gotta get momma up dressed feed and cared for then too...

I am not complaining. I signed up for this. For better or worse ya know.:)

I'm not sure how long you are gonna be able to keep this up? But used, already setup Vans with Wheel chair ramp or lift, are fairly affordable, since it's a tough market to sell them, due to insurance/medicare paying for new ones in a lot of cases. Last summer, I was searching for one, for my aunt/Uncle, they asked me, since I like to look for and wheel/deal on used cars, I found a sweet late 90s Dodge van, full size, a 318 V8 with100K miles, little rust, with a side-door lift and universal tie downs, $3K. They decided they wanted something newer, I dang near bought it for myself, to re-work into a standard van.

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
So, I just spent 2 hours tearing a crawler engine apart only to find out that I don't have broken rings or a hole in a piston, but I may very well have put the distributor in 180 out. Yep, gonna take 3+ hours at least to put it back together AFTER I buy a new ring compressor to replace the one I just broke.

And I call this "One of my good days!" :sigh:

Ring compressor is far cheaper than a set of pistons. That far torn down I would go ahead and hone the cylinders and put new rings in it.

The cylinder that wasn't firing, or as I thought- producing power, was just bored .045 over and a new piston/ring set put in just before I bought it. The other cylinder is acceptable. I just want to get it back together and moved. It's been sitting there all winter! Sure could have used it when we got the Christmas Blizzard!!! I'm going to check things out before I put it back together though.

I sympathize. Out west when California was burning down every summer where we had 30-50 miles visibility in the valley and often 200 or more from the mountains went down to 500-1000 ' with ash fall out 150 or more miles from the fires .
Yeah, I've seen the hue & cry being raised back east over the smoke issues. That's what we call "Summer conditions" where I live. 2021 was awful in that respect. Graze it--log it--or watch it burn.

On a happier note, I got the catheter out of my right shoulder today. I can shower on Saturday, and recoil is permissible in a week's time. I am one happy camper--I just got a large part of my life back.

Went to the studio for a final group photo today! Surprised to see some of the old staff decided to come too! They decided to put me in my rocking chair! In 50 years I never got a custom chair like everyone else ( I was always too busy on my feet to sit down) , so a furniture client I had, left me a hard wood rocker about 25 years ago after a big shoot! It was my Desk Chair
This is probably only 1/5 the staff we had over the past 50 years. Guy ( the Boss) retired 6 years ago @44 years on the job & I made it the full 50 Years until retirement., As I said today, "the 2 Smallest and oldest guys made it the longest!"
So I'm in the rocker and Guy is to my top left in the photo.
In 50 years we only had 1 disagreement! We Lasted longer the many marriages !
He was a great employer and Gave me the opportunity to have a great profession! 1973 to 2023! :)

Oh yes, I'm holding a "Japanese fan" to represent the Japanese Intern "Keoko" whose Uncle had a Photography Studio in Japan and sent her to study at our studio because he loved the Photos that we were doing and that had been published in international journals!
I was honored!

almost rained, didn't, sprinkled sorta rained more.
i had to take out the Apricot tree that froze to death this winter, thought there was some hope,,, but nope dead and dried into fire wood.
it was going good too, i guess the cold was just too much for it this winter.
i think i'm gonna go down and get some apricots from the one neighbor this fall and see if i can't start my own tree.

went to the G-Boys Tee Ball game, it got lightning and rained out before it started.

Done with the shoot and the clean up and made it out fishing today. We used my buddy Jimmy's boat again today as my new one is still MIA. So, we hit the water about 9 am and fished until 2:30 pm and had a great day. We landed 10 walleyes with 6 being keepers, 15 1/4", 16" 17" two 18" and a 19 3/4" being just under the slot. Real quality fish. We also got 5 large white bass and a nice sheepshead. Our sky was not hazy and in fact was quite clear, with a NW wind of no more than 5 mph. We could troll both into the wind and with the wind. As Jimmy put it late we functioned as a well oiled machine.
