At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
ITS, nice pic! Anyone got a theory on why everything tastes better outdoors? A 3/4 burnt, cheapy hotdog cooked over a little fire in the woods tastes as good as the best prime rib, and if you have bun or bread for it and some mustard, it's even better. Weird, but most folks seem to agree. Get over into the stew cooked in a dutch oven all day with biscuits made in a reflector oven, followed by peach cobbler made in another dutch oven buried in the coals...now that's eating!
I get the impression most of us here like our privacy. Family is one thing, but having the general population in your business everyday isn't for us. Makes sense to me.
I actually did a little shooting yesterday. Everyone was gone, I actually had the day completely to myself for the first time in 12-13 years. It was weird. Anyway, I had to go open up some roads and take care of some chores near the sandpit, so I took the Kit Gun and 50 rounds. I actually surprised myself be hitting the targets I was aiming at. No, I didn't hit the bull, no "Ben groups" to brag on, but I was on target. I could probably feed myself given in bow range and if I adjusted the sights. The Kit Gun has been sighted for short HP's for the last 25 years so it hits high with LR hi speed stuff. But I really do need to find a prescription for the eyes that will help. Barely made it out of the sandpit with the Ford and chains hauling an empty manure spreader, but I didn't ahve to walk home so that's a win.
10F and moderately heavy snow here now. Might be lake effect, I don't know. Winds right.
