I wont get asparagus until June,,my garlic hasnt started to peek out of ground, yet.
30 years ago, asparagus wasn't ready for picking until the last week in April. Now the first week, even thought we are north of the upper part of Maine, we have the 300 days of sun and warm Alaska ocean current to moderate the temperature.

Well got the running done,Truck fixed. New selonoid found its place on the fire wall.

Was worried I got the wrong cable for the Grand Cherokee. Because the local arm chair mechanic Jeep guys. They were telling me it, had to be adjusted with a clip set up from underneath.
My Jeep manual stopped at 2001. Covering only the early WJ's .
It said adjust it with a swing out clip. On the cable, by the mounting bracket, at the transmission.

Could not find an adjustment on the transmission side of the old cable.
The new cable I ordered ,was adjusted on the shifter side.
When I got the center console out . For both the 4x4 selector and the gear shifter cables. Adjustment at the shifter. Heck I probably could have pulled the center conceal off and adjusted both cables for wear and stretch. Then ben done.
But since I spent the dollars for a new cable. And have about half the removal done. It is going in.
Actually having fun working on this thing. It has not cost me more then a meal for two at Mcdonalds. Per fix.

Right now just sipping some Ice tea. Sitting here on the porch. Watching the rain.

Well Not Today But Last evening Joined my last 2 Sister-in-laws from my "Old" family At My nieces house for our traditional Potato Pancake "Lenten" supper! Me being the last brother of the old family! Now that it is just us 3 it is starting feel like a strange remembrance Of mush time that has past. Unfortunately Karen,
My wife , could not attend because she is nursing a Internal fracture of her Tibia and can not climb steps yet & my Nieces home has a lot of steps to climb to get inside.
It was nice getting together but is sure not the same now that my brother are not their anymore.

Got an email from a friend today. Hubby fell 10 ft trying to trim a tree. Busted femor and ribs. Ouch! We old folks don't bounce so well anymore.
She's been cooking all day for brunch tomorrow. About 12-14 relatives. I was forced to taste test it all. Oh well, I don't mind. Strange when you are the oldest of the clan. Everybody ignores me anyway. Loaded up some 145gr PB & GCd for the CVA - see if it will shoot OK now. Packed up 100+ 7.62x51 for a guy that needs some brass. Still got a bunch I'll never load.

portaband works good too.

Mainiac:
you gotta remember i had to shovel more than a foot of snow off them to see the few buds i seen.
the one box has a permanent lid on it to bring on more spring like weather a few weeks sooner, but it doesn't work so good when it's buried.

Went to Ft Smith yesterday.

DDS appointment for the kid .

Oil change for the Buick.

Kid clothes.

Dropped by the attorney's place, paid her for the new fraudulent allegations .

Paid for some other time/paperwork. If all goes according to plan in about 6 weeks Ms and I will be the proud adopted parents of the 3 little bitties we've been raising for 2 years .

I'll now be able to honestly say "that's not the stupidest thing I spent good money on" . Just kidding. At least there's no immediate threat of them going to state care now .

The roof guys got back with us about knocking off the brick chimney and paving over it . I saved $986.56 yesterday by climbing up breaking out 1 row of brick , tipping off the top 7' , and knocking off the remaining rows below the roof line so that when they fix the soft spots on both sides of it they can cover it too. I don't expect it will work out like that but chimney flashing at the eaves leak.

Cutting pigs.

You need a very large hydraulic sheer. I bought some pigs at a scrap yard once and they used their sheer to make them manageable for the pot.

portaband works good too.
Sawzall, circular saw, band saw, ax.
meh... whatever you have that works.
Just have to keep those shavings wrangled up. Don't want to waste lead.

When I saw that picture, I got a mental image. Thousands of wad cutters and Maxi Balls.

The Mrs. and I went through about 80 rounds of 22 rimfire and 24 rounds of 38 SPL today. She's hitting about 80% of her shots on a 8" gong at a little under 30 yards with the model 63, offhand. It's a little heavy for her, but the smile on her face was great.
