Sitting in the house watching it rain again today. With the constant rain, the warmer temperatures, and longer daylight, I will need to hire someone with a swather and baler to mow my lawn.

Trimmed the two big Red Oak trees out front today.
They get a lot of little sucker buds on the main branches. I thinned them out.

It was yesterday's doings, but finished loading the last of enough Garand ammo to fill a .50 caliber can -- 472 rounds in en-bloc clips.

I was once told that when he was asked how much Garand ammo is enough, the Guadalcanal survivor, who was only 17 when he landed, said 2500 rounds.

Experience speaks volumes, but if it were to ever come down to it I figure 2500 rounds wouldn't stand a chance against a drone-launched Hellfire missile.

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
The Marines were real short on drones and Hellfires in WW2!

Helped daughter paint her room, again, yesterday. Got some wood too and actually went for a short walk in the woods, surveying fencing repairs needed. Some of this fencing has been here since at least the 1960's, if not before I'm told. It's a mess. Also looked over the line fence where the new stuff is going this year, lots of chainsaw work to be done. Daughter also got 3 new rabbits given to her, one a registered flop eared breed of some sort. She's happy with more bunnies. If there was big bucks in rabbit grooming the girl would have a bright future. Angoras, Lion Heads, Jersey Woolies...I can't keep track of them all. She sure loves them.

I'm sort of lined up to take another backhoe off my neighbors hands. A late 50's/early 60's Case gas job. It runs and works okay, just not what anyone else wants to mess with being gas, 2WD and ugly, even for cheap $$$. Gotta find a loader bucket for it, but think I have a candidate. My other backhoe is a crawler and I'm waiting on things drying out to get it up on blocks, crawl under it, drop a skid pan with probably 800lbs of oil soaked dirt in it to access at least one burst hose thats probably been there since 1961. Get it fixed and between it and the other one, with a little training of my son and we can put a real hurt on some ditching and rock projects.

Missed a stock for neighbor mentioned aboves shotgun. An old JC Higgins 12 ga bolt gun that the previous owner abused. Gotta remember the time difference between Ebay time and my time!

Mom comes home from a visit to her sisters today. Better clean the joint up!

Scraped manure in the neighbors Yak pasture yesterday to make piles that can be spread or added to our large compost bins. As long as the back blade was on the tractor I started ripping up the driveway and today I'll add gravel and grade it back out. Built another raised bed yesterday and we filled it with compost, peat moss, and Pearlite. Got some fence posts to pull, some to install, and I want to add a rail at 150 yards out on the range. Supposed to start raining at 2 pm so I should have enough to keep me busy until then.

there is frost on everything and the sun is poking out this morning.
I might have to throw the AR in the Bronco and go for a ride to see if enough snow is off the lava fields for a chuck or two to pop it's head out.
last time out there I had a 6' snow drift in front of the road I get off the pavement at, so it might be a short ride out and back.

Rain... 2+ inches predicted for my county.
Gonna go to the LGS and see if they'll let me look at all the Henry's (22LR) in their back room.

Bret,
Being one, you probably know that the Marines landed on Guadalcanal with 1903s. Later in the campaign, after the Army waded ashore, they came to respect the Garand's capabilities and were trading for them, or stealing them.

Cut/cleared blown down pine trees until getting sick to my stomach...... not sure what it is? Something to do with low pulse rate. It isn't all going to get done today, anyway.

Been pretty weather the last few days.... the forecast is major rain dumpage round lunch tomorrow. Then settle in for a few days. Wanted to go ride my M/C before the rain came but now am too wore out.

Garands, M1 Carbines, Thompsons, Grease Guns, Johnsons, BARs, Reisings (sp) and pretty anything and everything else that would put lots of bullets on target became very popular from what I've read. "Suppressing fire" was the idea, so someone could get close enough to lob a grenade or satchel charge or employ a flame thrower. Jeeze, what a horrible way to make a living!

ITSHOP;

If it were me (40yrs doing Anesthesia) I'd get an appt with a Cardiologist, and soon. Almost sounds like a Sinus Arrhythmia known as Sinus Bradycardia. Can be serious if it's a recent occurrence; at any rate I'd get it checked out if it were me.
Could also be a 1st degree heart block whereby the SA node (Sinoatrial) isn't performing up to task. Sometimes a Pacemaker is required.

Expecting heavy weather in North Texas this afternoon and tonight.
Possible baseball size hail and winds up to 70 mph. Yuck!
Probably won't see it at my house.
Guess they have to sound the alarm just in case it happens. Then no one can say they weren't warned.

Nothing on the radar here in DFW but they cancelled a bunch of stuff. So the Mom's cars won't get hit with hail while they pick up the school kids. 50$ to get rid of an old fridge. Darned EPA. AC guys across the street did me a favor, I guess. They'll scrap it for 20$, recover R12 for 500$ a pound.

Carpet cleaners just left, after doing a terrific and conscience job.

They asked if they could bring their equipment in through the bullet casting and reloading garage, and I said yes. Mere moments later, one of the guys asked if I reload for hunting or target shooting, then he showed me a picture of the nice Wyoming elk he killed last year.

Sensationalist Weather Channel. In TX it's called "Spring".

Yep, but if they don't predict the worst case scenario, some snowflake will sue, claiming their "Black Betty" car got damaged because they weren't warned.
