I won't embarrass myself with my choices of drink . Grandpa's liked Jonny Walker Black lable and AA . Dad was a Canadian Club guy . Actually I do like Rye Bourbon .

don't feel bad RB.
I pretty much drink DrPepper for/with everything.
I usually don't eat at the one restaurant here in town because their soda sucks [by soda I mean DrPepper]
I like a couple of their lunch sandwiches and have stopped in with my own soda before which kind of got the owner upset.
he backed off when some of the other customers took my side in the matter.

I've have friends, who are professional scotch drinkers give, and introduced some real high end brands to me.... some, that a single shot at a bar is more than I'd pay for, whatever?

IF, I was drinking scotch, just give me a bottle of Johnny Walker black..... anything "better" is wasted. Same with beer, ice cold Buuuuuud Lite is good enough.

Wifeypoo got on a Salmon kick about,oh 10-15 years ago. Salmon salads, grilled Salmon,Salmon cakes,etc,etc..... uhhh, and she didn't cook it,I did so it was at least well cared for.

Can't stand the sight of it now.

Catfish with my coating sauteed/fried in a big ole black CI skillet is probably #1 right now. And Cod,if broiled.... really quick, with olive oil and some spices is prolly #2. Fresh Tuna steaks on a grill #3.

I keep Jack around the house, just for Rick. Myself, I prefer Evan Williams 1783 small batch. The Evan is half the price and rated much higher than Jack, by he Bourbon Lovers preferred samplings.

Rick drinks what Rick likes not what someone else says he should like. Besides Jack there is always Knob Creek and Makers Mark for sippin.

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
We got rain followed by by one of those warm, humid days with nary a breeze. Can't even roll the hay over till the ground dries a bit. So we spent the day, and yes- it took all day, to mount a Smittybilt roof rack system on SWMBO Warngler. In case anyone wants to know, Smittybilt makes decnt stuff, but their installation instructions (printed on copy paper with a printer thats running out of ink) suck. Good thing I'm creative and fairly patient. Installation alsoe required a trip to town to buy 2 T40 Torx bits- one to use and one to break. Jeep saw fit to loc-tite the door screws in and both bottom screws stripped the head of the screw. Had to drill those out. But, we got it on, it looks decent and we also got her trailer hitch installed. With the black crinkle powder coat on the rack, she know wants to know when I can get her new black fender flares on!

Headed to a wedding today. Why people in their 50's get married is beyond me. At least it's nearby.

Evan Williams IS GOOD. However, my palate prefers the flavors of Wild Turkey 20 yr old.

at one time it did have prune juice, then they switched to prune flavoring additive.
then they switched to corn syrup and bleah plus some preservatives.
I found an old bottle of the stuff from about 78-79 or so not too long back and gave it a swig,
flat as all get out, but the taste was still there.

I was told once, or maybe twice, that up until the '50s or '60s, Dr Pepper was the only soda pop served to patients in hospitals because the formula was based on prune juice.

Dunno about prune juice but they did name it correctly since it tastes' like medicine. :)

Yes it was prune juice in the 50s, can't drink the stuff nowdays. I'm down to H2O or ginger ale. Root beer isn't too bad if it is Barqs or Dads, rest is trash. We found a place (Kenny's wood fired grill - yea a plug - it's that good) that she says is best salmon ever, not mushy or dry. Filet is great too. Steak houses in DFW went to junk years ago. If I say well done, it's not red meat anymore?
Everyday real Italian (in Italy) red is terrible!! Fancy stuff isn't much better. US is MUCH better.

Had a cooler morning today so I fired up the smelting pot. Melted down the last of the range lead and poured it into ingots, makes close to 600 lbs so far this year. Maybe I'll dig some more after it cools off this fall, going to have to dry up some though, can't sift the dirt when it's wet and we've had about the wettest year on record so far. It was still fairly cool so I blended together several small batches of different alloy, some solder, pewter and range lead to make one 200 lb batch. If I've kept track of the different batches properly and the calculator works, it should come out to about 1% Sn, 2% Sb and a bit of copper. Most of my shooting is fairly easy going loads so it should work great in the 45 acp, 25-20WCF, and 38-55. The range lead has been averaging around 1.5% Sb, so if I want something softer I can use it and add tin. If I need more of a harder alloy for faster loads in the 308, I've got plenty of lino and Babbit to mix in. Should be set for quite a while, kind of depressing.

Gun show, picked up a pocket holster for the Kahr, some ammo boxes, saw some old friends, and tested the
knee. The knee did fine through a long gun show. No tylenol in the last 36 hrs, and fine.

Yeah, thanks. Walking to the car there are some stairs, kinda long stride, low angle outside, sidewalk type. Easy peasy,
and just nice up and down them several times, to and from show and lunch and all. Just NICE. It is already
well ahead of the old knee a couple months back and on a rising curve where the old knee was on a clear
downward trend for the last 3-5 years. Tickled to death about the whole thing, really.:):)

Stupid hot here. Took the tractor back over me and the dogs walking trails while the, heavy concrete weighted H beam drag was still hooked up. Then swapped the mower deck back on and mowed just around the house a bit. Just can't justify mowing the yard because of the lack of rain. Sure it looks a little rough but ehh.

Then went for a nice,"studied" ride on the BM. Temps are EASILY 15* cooler up on the BRP( Blue Rdige Pkwy) so seemed like the place to be?Saw a bunch of other bikes. Worked on hitting my RP's (reference points are used to keep your "timing" intune with the visual cues, and keeps you from target fixation) and "studied" lane position. And some other technical skills......

It was a good ride.
