Single-malt Islay Scotch, now that's something worth drinking occasionally. ;)

Sure do agree! But it is seldom I have the chance!
I love fine wine ( mostly dry reds) And fine crafted beers! The heavier and darker the better!

But most times the wallet dictates and most time in the summer I have some Hamm's Original in the fridge ( embarrassing as it is it is tasty on a hot day!)

When I checked the weather this AM we were looking at 30ish% chance of rain over the next few days. We worked our tails off and got the round baler back together and then went to raking hay. Got done around 6:30-7:00. BY then the chance of rain was 80% over night!!!!!!

I really hate weather guessers. We used to have a dinky little AM station out of Brockville, Ontario (maybe 15 miles north as the crow flies) that was always, always, ALWAYS right on the weather. As with most things AM radio, that station is gone. Oh well, at least the baler is back together.

From the ages of 5 to 12, I lived in Auburn, Washington, and can remember seeing Mt. Rainier and its pinkish glow, East of town.

One of Nature's beauties, but someday it's going to blow.

Ian,
Glenmorangie Scotch.
18 year old is my favorite.
Neat, no ice. I'll splash my own water, thank you!

Hey, With a good hop taste and not too sweet @ $13 per 30 cans ( that will do, pig!)
I have heard that it is the drink of airline pilots ( no hang overs) good enough for me !
I start my day Early!

If my Scotch doesn't taste of asphalt, I'm not big on it. I do like some of the Speysides but Ardbeg is the best, cask-strength Uigeadail being the very best. Neat, it has unbelievable flavor. Add a few drops of water and the bouquet is unleashed. A whisky stone gives yet another flavor, more subdued. Ice is a no-no, it numbs out the subtle floral finish.

I've got a 1/2 bottle of Christian Brothers XO here in front of me that was a gift from my neighbor 4 years ago! Buddy and I drank the other half about two years ago, in one afternoon. Wife gets a case of Bud Light every summer and we drink it with pizza dinners. About the extent of drinking around our shack.

My SIL drives me crazy.
She likes to mix my Scotch with Coke!

Yeahhhh. So save a Glenmorangie bottle, refill it with Canadian Hunter, and pretend to be using it when she visits. I have a neighbor down the road who will only drink Crown Royal, when he drinks, says it's the best whisky there is.......as he pours two fingers over ice in a tea glass and fills it up with Coke. He could do the same thing with Jim Beam or stale Diesel fuel for that matter and never know the difference.

Interesting that you would say that, Hawk. I have a bottle of that stuf here. I did some ammo for the
hunting outfitter in South Africa and he sent me a bottle. I've shared it with friends who know something
and they like it. Probably 6 shots out of the bottle.

When I was leaving the liquor store, yesterday, they had cases of Hamm's stacked near the door. Haven't seen any Hamm's since 69, when I was in high school. BTW, I left with a case of wine.................

I used to drink Cutty Sark...a lot of it. I've had a couple of the single malts, much nicer but I never got into it enough to have any preference. Definitely Scotch over Bourbon or rye. I like schnapps, spearmint, too, but thats also a trip down memory lane. These days it's coffee or water mostly. A root beer is a treat!

Yupper, it rained over night. Not sure how much yet, but enough to squash the hay down. Just ain't my year for hay.
