means it's August working on September and the doves gotta be run off before you can shoot them.
I'm expecting a cold snap and cold rain within the next 7-8 days just to make sure they go on time.

Got a "grudge" money bow shoot this weekend.... hopefully pay for gas N eats.

So,haven't been all that high strung(ha) bout shooting since the World debacle. And that sheet is on them..... anyway,it's interesting when you put a bow,M/C,or gun down for a period, irrespective of the reasons and then come back with..... not really a chip on(shoulder) but a,oh how you say? a renewed interest. I know in M/C world,it's serious as a heart attack not throwing $$$ down the rd. Ain't quite the same with the shooting sports which is kinda what sparked this synapse.

But in anycase...... something about picking it back up makes me at least, get RIGHT back to focusing on the foundation of basic principles.

Didn't you get any of the rain that came through SE KS last night? Dumped a inch out of the gauge this morning.

The Morton rep called me this a.m. to let me know that their crew hung the overhead door in our building. I drove by at lunch and it looks real good. Next week they will treat and seal the concrete floor, then I can get all the other subs in to do their thing.

On the way I stopped at a Burger King and got one of their new all-veggie Whoppers. It was actually pretty good, tasted just about like a beef whopper. I rarely eat fast food anymore, and when I do it's usually fried chicken (my wife won't fry chicken at home), but this burger is something I will probably try again. YMMV.

Good news on the shop. Moving day soon. :)

A total lack of political correctness will prevent me from ever going to any burger joint for fried veggies not to mention what else do they put in it to make it taste like what it's not. If someone wants a burger that tastes like ground beef might I suggest a burger made from . . . Cow?

Good to hear that there is more progress on the new shop, Keith. Looks like no problem being in
before the snow flies.

Hmmm. My burgers are made from dead steers. Nothing against anyone who wants to do veggy
anything, and I LIKE veggies, I love brussel sprouts, broccoli, and pretty much all of them. But
I want beef in my burgers....or, actually, buffalo by preference. If I could get a real buffalo burger
on a regular basis, that would be my norm.

That said, I probably eat about 2 or 3 burgers a month, many more grilled chicken sandwiches after
my stenting adventure.

I was thinking the same thing. What unhealthy chemicals are used to make vegetables taste like beef?

My first adventure into veggie burgers was on a tour of Unity farms. Wow cafeteria had burgers (a delicacy at this time for my family) Yuk.

Growing up so close to Loma Linda University--and now living practically right next door--I have zero interest in fake food. I AM A CARNIVORE--and will not apologize for what I am. I love good vegetables, good fruits, and good meats and cheeses. The Seventh-Day Advenist faith has much to admire, especially its commitment to serve mankind via medical innovations and experimentation. But fake meat and their STRIDENT advisements against pork products get old in a hurry. OTOH, their "haystacks" (a vegetables and cheeses dish) are EXCELLENT.

I've known many people who die of good old fashioned heart attacks and had good cholesterol numbers. It wasn't too many years ago that eggs were supposed to be bad because "medical science" hadn't figured out the difference between LDL and HDL. To quote a line from Starship Troopers: "C'mon...you wanna live forever?" My philosophy is all things in moderation, fix what's fixable as soon as it's broken, take reasonable dietary precautions, and don't worry too much about the rest because the body and life force are gonna part ways eventually, no matter what. So eat a GOOD hamburger once in a while and enjoy it.

I can see where, for some folks, depending on your body chemistry, eating a lot of fatty beef or pork
probably isn't good for your arteries in the long run. But, in moderation, I think that meat is fine.
OTOH, if somebody wants a veggy sandwich which tastes like a burger, that is their business and more
power to them. Heck, some day, I might try one - but so far, have not had any urge.

It sure is none of my business how someone chooses to set up their diet. As long as they aren't
telling me how to set up mine.
Looking at my teeth, it says "omnivore", as far as I can tell. And that works for me. If someone
wants something else, that is fine.

My father once said, "Nobody makes it out alive." Yeah, there it is. I'd like to keep that scheduled
out as far as is reasonable, but it surely is there.

I doubt that the things they put in a veggie burger is much worse than what they put in cows - growth hormones, overuse of antibiotics, etc. Not particularly worried either way, but I hope I never lose the desire to try something new. And when some of my vegan friends and relatives are visiting we can eat fast food together.

Wife is going in for cataract surgery on 9/3 for her right eye.
Her birthday is 9/4.
Medicare pays for the basic manual surgery, but not laser surgery or the upgraded lens.
She's also getting the"Symphony" lens installed. Supposed to let her read without bifocals or reading glasses as well as correct for distance.
Hope it works for pistol and revolver sights when it's my turn.

Definitely agree with Bill; buffalo is superior to beef. It is however, a bit too lean for my liking. Beefalo is a great compromise.

We eat probably 2 to 3 burgers per month. Making burgers at home kind of soured us on buying them from a burger joint. The one exception to that is In & Out Burger; they're pretty good and account for one of our monthly burgers.
Used to be a chain in SoCal called "Johnny Rocket's"; kind of the old malt shop theme. They had very good burgers.

Had buffalo burger in Cheyenne as a kid, pretty DRY taste. Mix with lean beef, OK.
I got the toric this year, laser just powders the old lens. Hope the bifocal ones work for her. Can still shoot pistol but (20/25) astig. still makes sights double.
Got the CT on the neck. Machine in Doc's shop was bonkers so a wheel chair ride to the other machine at the heart hospital. Doc called, said it didn't see anything, must have run it too low in resolution. Gee whiz!
