Went to see and shoot with my old hunting partner. He had bought a new Armalite brand AR.... had magpul folding sights to mount. And then I called his shots to get him sighted in.

We both shot the 2100fps CB's I took, out of the Savage #16....and yup,he was diggin on the reduced report/recoil. Talked about old times hunting, back in the day. I'm very proud of him,he let's a group of nice guys hunt on his huge pce of property. It amts to 19,000 acres.... he wants us to go blast varmints.Which suits me just fine, haha.I left our house this morning and there was a small herd of Deer in the yard say,50 yds from me loading rifle's N gear in the Buick.... doh.

He's my age and had a stroke a few years ago so we get to sit around acting like two grumpy old men yappin chit about the youngins these days, haha. It was a nice day.

this'll stop the face smack.

went out and put some more sagebrush on the dove blind this afternoon.
I dunno where they are spending their afternoons cause I put 50 miles on the truck checking a few places out and was beginning to think they had all vacated the state.

they did start coming in to my hole late in the day as usual so I might get in a day or two of shooting again.
I also found another little water hole closer to some uncut wheat fields that might be worth looking at tomorrow or Monday.

That shockmaster looks pretty neat and would definitely make high-volume shooting comfortable and safer for someone with sketchy retinal attachment like me. My FIL paid Ken Rucker to do the comb and butt plate system on mine and also sent the barrels to Briley for a forcing cone job and to put a jug choke in the top barrel to tighten it a bit from skeet before he gave it to me about ten years ago. The choke sure helps on the battues and 35-40 yard shots, and the adjustability makes it even possible for me to shoot it with all the cast the buttstock has, but until I whittled on it last night it was never the right fit for me and I rarely shot it. The thing to do now really is re-stock it, but it sucks that he spent all that money trying to make it work for me.

Knoxx comp stock. Wife might not shoot a 12 without one. If the one on the 500 broke I'd buy another immediately.

Water Damage & mold (in the same space) clean up/dry down. Real funky & glad it's done. Nuther in the works....
In place dry down, all the ceilings & insulation wet...nice 4yr old home, due to roof removed & pop up down pour. I hate to see this happen to anyone. When this is done it will have saved the contractors responsible, 3 insurance companies, & the home owner about 40k$ & a huge mess.

I was looking for a soft touch comb, but couldn't find what I wanted on their website.
they will generally just make you a soft comb you can drop right down on your pins for like 100-150$.
then your resting your cheek on a cushion.
lifting your head even slightly is the number-one cause of missing with a shotgun.

it's like jacking the rear sight on a rifle up and down 1/2" or more every other shot.

i'll tell a little story about how an old timer set up a guy's shotshell reloader for him.
the guy brings it to the club and the other guy gets all the settings in place to make a real nice looking shell. [proper stack height and all]
then he makes 5 shells and says 'now lets make YOUR load'
out they go to shoot the 5 shells and the first guy breaks all 5 targets and is all happy.
the second guy is standing right there watching him from about 3' away the whole time.
when they come back in the second guy tears the top of the machine off and changes out the powder busing and makes 5 more shells.
out they go again, and again the first guy breaks all 5 targets, and again the second guy is standing a couple of feet away staring at is face.
they come back and once again the second guy tears the top off the machine and changes out the powder bushing again.
5 more shells and out they go again, the guy only break 4 targets this time and isn't so happy, but the second guy insists this is THE LOAD for him.
this time he makes the first guy a whole box full and sends him out to shoot a full round.

one of the other guys in the club watched the whole thing and said why are you screwing with him like that?
I'm not screwing with him, I kept lowering the load until he quit wanting to lift his head off the stock and that's the load he is going to shoot, that is HIS load.

We went to the farmers market. What a joke. The only beats found were bunches of about 6 beats about 2" dia. The lady wanted 5$ per bunch. No thanks.
The wife had to pay a bill at H.D. Being a chatty kathy. The register lady said the Omish were setting up as she was going to work. We found them and got a few bags of this and that. That will get put up today.

The Amish around me do very well with market gardens. Some people actually tour the area just to see the size of some of the "gardens". One guy near me must have 8 or 10 full acres in production, and thats a HUGE amount of land to cover as a garden, especially as a "part time" thing! I thought I was doing some real work when I had 1/2 acre going and I was using power equipment to keep a lot of it up. Ha! Pride goeth before the fall, indeed!

300 rounds??? What kind of sissy only loads 300 rounds? Good grief. Give the girl a chance to put some rounds down range.
I bet you only prescribe .2mg Tramadol to someone with severe back and neck damage.:p
Don't treat those .357 loads like class three narcs man....good grief!....

That is for ONE gun, not 5. And a single range trip, not 3 days of camping. Also 2 people shooting, not 4.
Walter, you can try to pass the buck all you want but we all know you are grossly under ammo'd for next weekend.
Enjoy the 6 pack and half roll of Charmin. Or wait, you buy the jail house type stuff cause it is cheap. Your poor wife.

No semi-autos in .357, either. I believe the part about Tramadol, though, if you ain't real nice to him at work he might compound some cayenne HCL to fill the 'script :p

I missed the part about tramadol. Might be because as an RP I don't prescribe, I dispense. Maybe if Walter knew a pharmacy tech she could explain the difference.

I already have 400 rounds of 44 special and a few hundred 9mm. We have enough to keep busy for a few hours.

What I really need to do is get busy loading some 45 ACP so I can get in some practice. I also need to size and lube bullets so I can load a few hundred more 38s for my wife.

Nope. But at least you can play the game!
I will admit I'm kinda jealous that you are going camping for the weekend. Sounds like a good time. I see a video or two coming from this.
Please don't shoot the lever gun from a chair, my daughter won't.

LMFAO! Deal! I am excited about the vid that comes from this trip. I'm going to download the "follow me" App for my drone and my brother just bought a GoPro camera as well. If you are not familiar with the drone app I'm talking about, it will lock onto you and hover above and follow you around filming from above. Should make some neat footage.
