Yeah, it's sad but true . . . Brad wastes a considerable amount of time in the frivolous pursuit of earning a living.

The wife finally gave up. We are headed to H Depot to get a new Dishwasher and other assorted wood products for upcoming projects. H D will only except the military discount on national holidays now. So that is when we now do any purchases.
John G I to tend to use items until they are well past their usefulness.
I am very happy i don't have to drop those trees. I don't cut many trees down. But i have a reputation of having them fall in the wrong direction! Rather than fall to the cut out wedge they tend to fall to the back cut.

How about the current situation, paid for staying home? I have a favorite Supper Club, a charming 94 year old place with a gorgeous round bar, run by the daughter of a dear friend, and also a friend in her own right. I asked her if I could buy some gift certificates during the state imposed shut down and designate tips for her staff. She told me her staff can hardly afford to come back to work because, "They will be losing money!" They are making more in unemployment with the Corona kicker than they do when they work!
So my friend is keeping the Supper Club closed as long as the funding holds out.
I saw a notice that they will be starting a carryout menu this weekend, so perhaps since our State Supreme court ruled the governor over stepped his authority and places are semi-free to reopen, perhaps the free money spigot will be turned off.
I remain confused. I have a cast bullet match I will be hosting in less than a month, I think I shall go reload some more ammo. That is less confusing than our current situation.

Work isn't so bad if it will comply to your terms . I have to do it a few more years unless something really amazing happens like I hit the lottery or the lumber thing comes together according to hopes .

Ok I want to say that's not a tractor that's some kind of spider excavator double jointed 4 wheel articulated rock crawlers nocternal emission .

That video also contains about 12 minutes of "nope there's got to be a better way .
As far as a purpose built tractor goes that's probably about as good as it gets . I saw a note about a winch , is it on the rig or on the dam ? The harness it was dragging makes me think it's on the rig . That would take a lot of the seat chomping out of the decent after you'd done it a few times .

I've heard and read about guys on Cats dropping the rippers on high angle stuff . Even a story about a guy that climbed one out of a hole with a wench and a ripper but that's got nothing on this video .

1. Rally needs one of excavators.

2. For many years my V. A. card allowed a 10% Home Depot discount everyday. Two years ago a checker told me the discount only applied on national holidays. Last year a checker asked if I was a veteran, I replied yes, showed her my V. A. card, and explained what the previous checker told me. She said because my disability is service related the discount is applicable every day.
I don't know exactly what Home Depot's veterans' discount policy is, but to eliminate any confusion it would be worthwhile to inquire of national headquarters. If headquarter's policy is different than that of the local store's, then the manager needs to be educated.

HD & Lowes is 10%, Lowes needs proof, HD I just say vet and all good. Lowes does have reserved parking for vets. Many places have over 65 or vets, most you have to ask. My TX DL says vet on it.
It has winch on the back - I think they attached it to a boulder at the top? Still an awsome machine.
Gals been texting around, friend has a blockage in carodid above the ear, chems trying to clear it. Left side isn't working so some rehab for him hopefully. Tried to call the hosp. Nope not at tis one, try this one - nope, no there either. Gals need to ask right questions! Like a phone message I got from bro -'on the way to hosp, dad's there with a stroke'. Uh, there are 5 hosp in Denton!

HD and Lowes here are both 10%. I have both the DL/vet and the VA card. Lowes uses my phone # (I have an account with them). Maybe it is local every day here, as we are in a very big military/retired/veteran town. A lot of other places also offer the 10% discount to veterans. Arby even offered it one day when they saw the hat I was wearing. I had no clue.

Today, I worked over 4 very neglected garden beds. They kicked my ass but they are ready for tomatoes tomorrow! And herbs.

While I was doing that, Herself cut the back yard. Took us nearly 5 hours to get it all done.

I got out the Garand and 03A3 and listened to their interesting war stories. The range is closed, so I can't shoot them like usually do on the Memorial and Veterans' holidays.

They each told typical combat stories, but I was really amused by the those they shared of their encounters with young and attractive mamzelles and frauleins. Unfortunately, they are not for re-telling on a family oriented forum.

The 2-43 barrel dated 03A3 was purchased for next to nothing, but it was in full sporterized condition with a Bishop stock, and it took a good while to accumulate all the bits and pieces to get it back in military configuration. Its four groove barrel shoots like new with both cast and jacketed bullets -- the RCBS 30-180-SP with Unique, and the Sierra 168-grainer with IMR 4831. It has an interesting serial number -- 3433333.
The 6-43 dated Garand is a Korean return, and I had Springfield Armory replace its steel-cleaning-rod worn '56 dated barrel. I've only shot it with the above Sierra bullet, and it favors Accurate 4064.

They aren't collectors. Nor are they anything special other than to me. Eventually they will go to my son and his son.

Wife and I both, have a sinus Infection, Started taking meds for it Friday. The steroids are really messing with my sugar levels. Plus it has kinda got in my lungs causing me issues. Had the whole day planed out, all that happened was a trip to the osmosis machine to get some drinking water, and I put air in the tires of the car. And a little dog petting, and lap setting. My little Chihuahua always knows when I am sick.
Someone dropped off One of those KFC eat all day packs and a 12 pack of diet ginger ale on our porch. God is good

At large, whereabouts unknown.
It's called a "walking excavator". I've only see them used everywhere but in America. They're really cool, and the good operators are really good! Elsewhere, they're simply crazy:

Well finely got the shooting shed frame up. Plans got changed for the daily chores. Started raining last night, and intermittently today. So it was the perfect time to fertilize the yard. Then I had to help get the garden going with the wife, later in the afternoon had a chance work on the shooting shed frame.

Tomorrow I will slide the skid back about 20', block up to level and fasten the tarp cover on. Next slide the six foot bench in and lay a sheet of 1 1/8th underlayment plywood on it and cut out for shooting positions for two shooters.

Rally

JohnG,
I've got the remains of the same type portable, but heavier, designed to be used as a one stall garage. I'm going to refashion mine into a canoe rack to get my canoes off the ground in winter. I also have two 10'x4"x4" plastic posts (ground up plastic dashes out of cars made into posts) to use as a footing.

Good day yesterday. Went fishing with oldest son, granddaughter, and grandson. Caught about twenty little crappie, couple small Northerns, and two large mouth bass about 3 lbs each. Came home about 1 and put the last coat of varnish on the wife's benches and trim on two entry doors. Of course, ended up staining and varnishing a couple shelves the wife had half done.
We just had crappie sized minnows for bait, and every fish brought in a whole bunch of decent sized sunfish would follow the caught fish in. Tried every color and size artificial in my extensive collection onboard. I could see then swim to them and just wouldn't hit anything! Some of them were in the 3/4 lb. range too! So about 4 pm it started raining. At 10:30 I made a short trip to my hunting grounds and caught 306 in short order. I'm planning a return trip shortly.

run a main support beam and add in a couple of trusses and that might hold up ''some'' [you know,, like 6-8"s] snow.
:p

took the G-boy out on the boat for a bit yesterday.
I had gone to the memorial held by the VFW in the morning, then somehow forgot it was memorial day 3 hours later.
we caught a couple of fish [maybe 25 total], and had some memorial wave rides courtesy of the water skiers.
apparently the guy in the sail boat did too, because we could hear him tear into one of the boat drivers asses from a good 500 yds away.
the dock area wasn't as bad as I thought it would be but it was full, and the river had more people fishing on it than I have ever seen.[too bad there ain't no fish in it]
