The "Yama Hama" was my reaction to seeing Ian's Tumor photo for the first time, which happened to be right before I left for the hospital.

The surgery was a great success, The main PT tech who has lots of experience, said he never seen anyone else with the ability to stand and walk (50') and have the range of motion I had only 2 hours and 10 minutes after leaving the operating room. Now. I am mostly using a walker, but can walk a little bit without it. I haven't checked in here, because I only go "online" with a PC, never on a phone. I got home at 3pm, spend several hours with Daughter and SIL and GD...lots of fun, but that really took a lot out of me visiting with them in my Garden. I'll tell more of the story tomorrow as I am too tired to type it all out.

Good news Jon. Freind's that has the stroke said he got 1.7mi without walker last week. Isn't too worried about the anularism they found.

That is a very interesting and unique design.
Thanks, I'll pass that on. Last months .22 shoot he brought me 2" and 3" diamonds made out of 1/4" and now these for center fire cast bullets made of 3/8 stock. As I said, he's one hell of a fabricator. Before he retired he built chopper spotters. I am jealous of his skills. He has a fully equipped shop. This dude is also an art blacksmith. Ever seen hand made chain mail?
I put these up as I said previously at 80 yards for an off hand match. Well my one buddy who always shows up early was on the range whacking away. I walked up and he handed me a bone stock 03A3 and said, Here give this a try." I said what's your zero and he said 80. So showing off I stood on my hind legs and drew a bead, (blade), on one of the 5" diamonds. Took up the first stage and managed to squeeze off a decent pull and blew the diamond off the rail. I promptly handed the rifle back. No sense in tarnishing that little bit of luster.

You got an ugly prep nurse or what?

Oh....4:45, no, that's the "holy mole' stuff's gettin' REAL!" panic attack, phase one. If that doesn't happen to you, there is something worse wrong than your knee.

Maybe JonB found a good looking nurse there. Some of those farm girls are easy to look at, especially dressed in all white.

All the nurses were good looking to this fat old bachelor. But no sponges bathes for me :(

Also, I got a prescription for Oxycontin, I haven't taken one yet, haven't needed it, I think the nerve block has worn off, BUT I imagine tomorrow morning will be the real test, if I sleep ok in my own bed and feel ok in the morning after Tylenol and coffee, then I should be able to avoid the opiate. They have me going to their remote clinic (due to covid) for Post Op dr appt tomorrow afternoon, I'd like to drive the 30 miles to that clinic, and not have to arrange alternative transport. while I can't get into my Toyota matrix, I can easily get into my C2500 pickup.

OxyContin? Oxycodone IR would make more sense for short term pain relief.
After my hernia surgery last fall I felt like the Tylenol did better than the oxycodone.
Just don’t let yourself get constipated with that stuff.

Jon,
You may want to not discard the walker just yet. Pain medications can do weird things to one's coordination and mental abilities, and you don't want to risk a fall.

Brad, I guess didn't look at the script that close. so I just looked at the bottle, it's Oxycodone HCL 5mg (take one or two every 4 hrs as needed)

462, Oh I won't. for example...I made supper tonight and carried the plate from the kitchen to the lazyboy without walker...but I do use the walker for all other walking.

That makes sense to me. If you take many be sure to get on a stool softener or some other form of mile laxative. Lack of mobility also makes one tend towards constipation so there is a double whammy.
Oh, and lots of fluids helps too.

Keep on keeping on Jon. Sounds like you are doing pretty well so far.

Glad to hear you are doing well, Jon! Do what the PT tells you. After my knee surgery I thought PT meant Physical Terrorist ;) But they sure help out.

Good to hear you made it, Jon. Here's to hoping the new hardware still bends tomorrow. Tylenol on a rigid six hour schedule around the clock is a lot more effective at managing midrange levels of pain than I ever thought it would be, it's just not effective for inflammation unless combined with ice packs and/or doses alternated with ibuprofen.
