Gold topped two grand recently, a new record. Unfortunately, I chose to invest in lead, brass, tin, antimony, and copper instead.
Those are good options. Ever tried to load ammo to defend the homestead with gold?

Gold and silver cast bullets might even be legal to hunt with here in the PRK. They are non-toxic metal, after all.

Spent the rest of the day in the leg today, things went well with no pain or soreness. The cool temps prevailing of late means much of tomorrow will be spent playing in the garage with war toys and fodder for same. 23 more shopping days until the dove season opener.

I bought a little gold because of dc spending habits. I was surprised it went from 1045 to 1730 in a year. Honestly, I hope I lose value as I'd rather see the country flourish. Unfortunately, it is still clinbing. Even after sales commission, I'd have a dang good return if I sold it now. I can remember 300.

I was at the range this morning. The Police must have had a Qual shoot. Grass painted lines at various distances and 223/556 and 45 brass piled to the right of each line...that was nice of them, so I didn't have to look all over our large grassy range for random strewn brass. Two grocery bags, each partially filled...of course one of them ripped when I was trying to remove the bags from the car when I got home :(

Most of the 45 was S&B, large primer style. I'm not a S&B fan, but I have loaded some 9mm S&B in the past, the metal seems different, like it's softer or something? It polishes to high sheen easily...which indicates to me it's soft. I'm not sure if I'll give these cases a go or just sit on them until the next gunshow?

Most of the 223/556 was Mil surp...I'm also not a fan of Mil surp case prep these days, since I already have enough commercial stuff on hand. I suppose I'll just sit on these as well, until we have a Blip like we had in 2014, after Sandy Hook.

S&B primer pockets are hellish tight with CCI 300 but the old Lee hand tool takes care of them. Pretty good brass otherwise, or at least that's the way it was 20 years ago when I picked up a few thousand after a machine-gun shoot.

223-556 if it is brass. Same process Military Crimp, or not it gets picked up then washed, de primed, Primer pocket reamed with Primer pocket Reamer on a drill (I even ream the civilian 223 I like the little bevel on them helps them seat when I don't get it line up so-so). I length trim, size and prime within a couple days. Then it gets immediately sorted and put into an ammo box according to head stamp.
Really need to stop picking it up for a while. But when I see those pretty shinny golden things on the ground just can not help myself.
Just keep a couple extra decapper pins around.;)

Well going to try get the rear bumper off the truck today. The thing had sat backed up to a pile of manure for a couple years before I got it. No frame damage but the rear bumper and brackets are just about gone. Figure I had better get it off, before it falls off going down the road and someone hits it. Bracket bolts are rusted, fused to the frame. Do not have any torches but proud owner of a saws all and grinder.

Spent some time being fascinated by a guy working sheet metal. He has a very well equipped shop but his skill makes it work.
Even if not into cosplay watch some of his videos like making the mandolarian helmet. He is magic with sheet metal.

Went school clothes shopping. My wife and kid got their new shoes, and I found out I could get any pair in the store half off, so found me a pair if Sketchers, walking shoes, on the clearance rack. For like 15 bucks after my discount. First pair of name brand shoes that were not for work in 15 years, since my kid was borne.
I am sportin'.Boy these things are nice, almost forgot what a good pair of walking shoes felt like.
Stopped and bought a 6 pack to drink while cutting the bumper off the truck.
By the way I have had about 4 Hamm's beers, which is about 4 over my limit. So forgive me of I am a little off.
Think I will go to bed now.
