rolled out of the pickup door in the nicely sheltered lower section of the draw at 0630 and 16-f then started climbing.
about the time the trees thinned out to almost none, the mountain stopped, and so did I.
someone had come through the secondary trail and cut out about 200 trees that had fallen over the 4 wheeler trail making the walk some easier than expected.
[we found that out after taking the primary road then cutting over the ridge to the secondary when the first dead ended]
seen one decent deer for about how long it takes to lift a rifle and get the scope in place then slip down a slope 3 foot while watching it bounce off... laughing.
[at least the guys on the 4 wheelers didn't see it happen]
made it back down to the truck around 1 PM knackered out.
neighbor stopped by and offered me a very lightly used Taurus 357.
7 shot, ported [4-5/8"?] barrel, with ADJUSTABLE SIGHTS, and that weird flexy rubber grip they put on them,, for 500$.
I kinda think anything other than a Taurus [or another 357] and I mighta went for it.
I dunno maybe a decent deal?
