Spending your checks

My brother will not be getting any. He is does not make enough from pension to file taxes. Injured for life at work. Not old enough for SSA on private disability insurance, and a private pension. Till he turns 65. Shame too because he could really use that. This virus hoarding thing and price gouging on necessities, has him cash strapped.
Wonder how many people are in his situation.

So has anyone got a check yet? Just curious, as I have not, but have heard those of us who have direct deposited for taxes should get it by the end of the week.

Don't know and don't care whether we get a gubmint check or not. If we do, I might buy a new dog bed from My-Pillow for our pet armadillo Chauncy.

ain't looked.
I know neither of the kids [err adults? that live here] are getting one, they are both on SSID.
I should get triple for putting up with them and hauling their butt's around everywhere like a taxi service.

Went over the online bank statement this morning, they haven't sent anything my way which is fine with me and I hope they don't. I'm not sticking my hand out looking for something for nothing. I just can't see somebody getting up every morning, work their hieny off and have their earnings taken away and given to me.

Ms got hers . Her boys live with use one useful one not so much , I only ask to make an effort and respond to suggestion .... One has a letter the other has his . Ms and the less useful boy checks are pending to clear Wednesday . Mine should be along shortly , the receiving account has been obscicated by system overhauls .

New chain saw and mower on our list . We intended to go another season , but this is better for us , I'm tired of working on stuff long enough to get it through the job and starting over again .

The wife and I both bust our ass year in and year out. Payroll taxes are taken at the highest levels for the both of us and we still write checks to the state and feds every three months. If they want to give us back some of our own money I'm not going to complain or feel bad one little bit...

My sentiments exactly. I do agree with Rick too, but the situation isn't quite what it appears to be because the money taken out of my pocket this year has already been spent on whatever the governments of all levels blow it on. This "stimulus" money is essentially fake. Nobody has worked for it, yet. Maybe never because the IRS isn't going to collect three extra trillion from taxpayers next year to pay itself back.

The treasury just prints this stuff like it's nothing, cooks the books, and adds a few trillion more to the national debt. All fantasy land. Some day it will be like Argentina where a literal wheelbarrow full of 100s won't buy a loaf of bread at the market.

How to live in hyper inflation:

Have no debt, own your house, cars etc.

Invest in companies that will survive, food, tobaccos, liquor, etc. Government bonds if you trust them.

Buy this year what you will consume next year.

Limit your cash, buy "things" that will have value after hyper inflation.

Ah, the Jim'a Carter years.
Bought our house in 1975 with a 10 1/4% mortgage. Late 1979 got a 16% second to enlarge and remodel the kitchen and add a 350 sq. ft. family room.

On January 1st (literally) 1975 we moved in to the house my parents purchased in Wisconsin. My father quit his job with Liberty Mutual to head up the Health and Safety for Allis Chalmers a Fortune 500 company at the time. He choose Allis Chalmers over Levi's Strauss. Then the prime interest rates went crazy. No one buys big ticket items at 20+%, Allis Chalmers bread and butter. Last I looked Allis Chalmers was still Fiat/Allis and a foot note in history.
