I thought I'd start a tip of the day thread. Since this is in general discussions, it does not have to be about cast bullets. Just little tips that help to make things easier, solve problems etc.
So, I'll start this off with this one. This problem only comes around once in a great while and is normally associated with getting a new windshield in your vehicle. In NYS the registration also goes on the windshield next to the inspection sticker and it is not intended to be removed and reinstalled. Safelite did a decent job of getting it off without destroying it when they replaced my windshield this week. But the adhesive was pretty well gone and it did not want to stay put. I thought thin double-faced tape would work, but could not find a roll in the house. So, I put it back on with a glue stick. For those of you not familiar, this is a giant chapstick with rub on glue used for joining papers and crafts. We always had it in the office and I've used it for a bunch of stuff. I ran the glue stick around the periphery of the registration which is where the original adhesive was, and put on the windshield. Presto, looks like it had never been removed. I got mine at Staples, but I'm sure places like Walmart sells them in the stationary section. Only needs to survive until December. And if it gets loose, I'll just do it again. But, I have used glue stick glue to put fake ADT security labels on all my windows as a deterrent. They stayed on for years.
