Haven't seen the sun but for a couple of hours the entire week, otherwise it has been overcast and or raining the entire time. Everything is soaked, probably going to have to mow the yard in January and get the rest of my leaves up if it ever dries out. It's supposed to get back to normal winter temps around here middle of next week with highs in the 40s and lows in the 20s and 30s. This part of NC is like a box of chocolates in the winter, you just never know what you're going to get.

That is the one thing I really didn't ever get used to during my 2 year tour @ Elmendorf AFB.
And that is about 350 miles south of John.

Six inches of snow here on the valley floor last night and it warmed up 10 degrees. NOAA is calling for high of 36 today and a could get a couple of hundredths of rain. Storm is heading east.

Very "Pacific Northwesty" here today.

A fair bit above freezing, wet, no wind, the moisture in the air is just almost vapor and you get wet if you walk a hundred feet. Still and quiet.

I had to ruin it for a while, running the saw and the splitter, but I'm done with that and the atmosphere is making me homesick for my first home away from home.

Received 1.4" the day before. When I got up at 5 AM, there was 1/10" in the collection device. When I dumped the gauge around noon, we had 9/10 inches.

It's been raining and winding! The rain frog says almost an inch today, and more is scheduled for tomorrow.

"OK, OK, I'm going as fast as I don't want to go!"
Rained all night here in the southern Mojave desert. Wind blew a bunch but that is normal here. Temps were down to the high 20s at night but this storm brought warmer temps in the 40s. Still raining in the city of Palmdale where I'm at right now (church and weekly shopping).
