Ah, he musta had a few.
I love 9 shooters, they tend to shoot lots and not reload.

I did find a few nickel 10 mm cases last week. Seems like an expensive gun to shoot without being a reloader.

They were once fired from the LAPD. We used to rent the silhouette range to them & the cost meant nothing, the tax payers bought them all they wanted. The best was when SWAT trained there and left their 308 Federal Premium Match brass laying on the ground. I told them no problem I will be more than happy to clean up after you. :D

Yes please do leave as many once fired 308 cases as your hearts desire. I will pick it all up. I love the "send it" guys, they always leave shinny brass for me.

How long is your barrel? The one I passed on at gu had a 9" and I'd prefer 5-7" on something like that.

Mine is the 7.5 inch, the 9.5 inch is too long for my taste.

I have a 15 inch Contender barrel in 309 JDJ, is that more interesting?

A longer barrel for range use is handy. For carry it certainly is not. The SRH with a scope is truly a handgun, it is always in my hand when hunting. Tried the bandolier type holster, just didn't work well for me.

You need a sling for that thing. My RH with a red dot is more than I want to tote anymore. That's why I carry the 1894 when hunting.

Little different, mine is a Cerecoted SS round barrel in 44 Magnum to go along with the RH. Harvested a seven point this season with Noe's 265 RNFP (solid) and 16 grains of 2400.

Close, northern MO. My parents live here in Nebraksa but own 120 acres in northern Missouri. Lots of deer and turkeys there.
I see deer almost daily outside my house but living in the city hunting isn't permitted. We even had a turkey nest in a bush outside the dining room window years ago.

This is the golden age of deer hunting. My dad said when he was a kid in Wisconsin in the 40s it was pretty unusual to see many. Not any more.

Our numbers are down quite a bit from a few years ago. They were completely over populated in east neb. I was shooting 20+ does a year before the blue tongue hit. I think 07 was my high of 22 free range wild whitetails. From mid September to mid January with bow, handgun, rifle, muzzleloader, or shotgun I was hunting. It was easy.
I didn't even go because of eye surgeries last fall. Sad.

I live just off Bellevue Blvd. As the eagle flies I'm less than a mile from the southern edge of Gifford Farm.
Understand why I have deer and turkeys? Heard turkeys while casting Sunday.

What sight do you have on the lever? I'm still considering my options for the 336w. I'll be honest and say I don't care for the looks of that but I bet it works fast and we'll for close up.

I used a cheap red dot on my 1894CB years ago in Texas for a pig hunt. It was fast to shoot, like shooting a shotgun.

I've hunted gifford several years. That entire area is plum full of them.
Have several good clients in that area too. One gal was down right angry about what the deer and turkey did to her fancy pants landscaping. I was chuckling in my mind while she cried about it.

I'd take deer and turkey tearing up my yard over the section 8 trash that has been trying to take over up here. About 6 miles north and outside city limits is where I'm planning for.

I'd have trouble not sending a bolt through one. I would feel like they were taunting me.
