I watched several Youtube videos and the only magazine snafu was occasional failure to hold the bolt open after last shot. However, Youtuber said it might be do to the subsonic factory ammunition he was using. Was shooting with a suppressor.

These dont do anything for me. (Probably largely cause I feel the same about the 9mm :p ;) )

I have a Marlin CC45 that I love! Its such a nice shooter. When Ruger brought back out there carbine and offered it in 40 I ordered one. Took some time ta get in but hundreds of 9mm versions came in and was sold while I waited. It finely came in and it is also a dandy. Ballistically Im getting ballistics surpassing real 10mm hand gun numbers.

I have used the Camp45 for two deer. One with a Remington Golden Sabre +p In and out bang flop. Second was a 230g Hydra Shock regular pressure. Also a thru and thru but not bang flop. Recovered quickly. The 45 worked very well. Both shots under 50 yards. I haven't used the 40 on a deer yet.

that's okay a couple thousand hundred guys tested it out for you in the 1800's.
the consensus was mostly to use a 44-40 instead of the 38-40, but it worked.

Quite the potty mouth.. :embarrassed:
Disturbing looked like extractor as well as Magazine. I think mistake NOT making it optional Glock mag. A mag that most have and nearly ALL acknowledge WORK WELL.

All companies put out an occasional lemon. Pretty sure, Henry will make good on it. Most of the videos I watched, the user installed the Glock magazine adaptor. They all ran like clockwork.

Like many things, I am more interested by the concept than the actual product (Ford Maverick, anyone?). I like the idea of a simple, easy handling rifle like this which isn't tacticooled. Not dropping the money on one of these unless they chamber it in a more capable cartridge, and this video sure didn't help sway me. Seems the Ruger would be a better choice, just wish it had more traditional styling.

....Ruger would be a better choice, just wish it had more traditional styling.

This is my biggest beef with SO many guns today - "styling," aesthetic features for aesthetics' sake only - unnecessary lines, grooves, bumps, swirls, which add no functional value. Most of this is not even "pretty," but just added to make the gun look uglier so it looks more "tactical."

Not criticizing the Henry or the Ruger carbine. I think the Henry looks OK and don't know what the Ruger looks like but can imagine. This concept of style over substance seems to pervade these days.

I'm fine with ugly guns though, as long as they're only ugly in deference to a focus on FUNCTION. Then, somehow, they become beautiful.

I have one of the high points. Raises ugly to another level but is good for what it is. I don't shoot it very much. It would be nice if such a thing capabilities wise wasn't just butt ugly.

My interest is that it's the most user friendly PPC for southpaws. I think all long guns should have tang safeties. Another plus for me, is that Henry made a wise choice in offering with magazine adaptors, other than priority Henry or Glock. I don't own any Glocks. However, I do own a Sig P-320 pistol and have half dozen mags for it.

Browning HP was the first high capacity magazine for 9mm's and is still very popular. Surprisingly, no manufacturer offers PPC carbines that would run on said magazines. :headbang:

Don't know where one gets that a 9mm PPC is inadequate. If you look at velocities, 9mm pistol is almost where 125 grain 357 revolver is at. Push that, out of a 16" barrel carbine, and your past that. Highly doubt, a 357 Magnum is underpowered.

tried that 40-9 thing.
i couldn't figure out how to get the cases to back into the chamber, and match up to the barrel properly without a lot of gizmo linkages.

Amen brudda!!!!! There isn't anything wrong with blue steel and wood!!! Style over substance- 100%!!!

i think what we need is a new cartridge.
 Yup! Surprising they haven't thought of that yet. The 9.5mm Henry Hogbuster or maybe the 39 Henry Super Duper Semi Short Mag!!! The world awaits this desperately needed cartridge!!!

I just want to know why the 9×39 isn't all the rage and why there's no 30 PPC ???? I mean in an AR or any AK cousin these shouldn't even be a question . They should just be a stock option ..... Of course we're dealing with hungry people that wouldn't buy a 1/3 pound burger because 4 is bigger than 3 and ate all the quarter pounders that were only 3oz after cooking unlike the 5.5 oz as served burger .......
Ok fine it's just a 35 Herritt rimless in a 52 kpsi action but there's a beta mag if you drop in a 6.8 follower and how cool would a suppressed 9mm just barely sub sonic with a 85 round drum mag be ???
Nevermind an increase in capacity over Legend and a shoulder to headspace on for bolt guns .
