I would agree that if one was able to measure individual intelligence of the adults on earth and plot the results on a graph, the curve of the graph would take on the classic bell curve shape. However, the middle of the bell curve, where most people land, isn’t very impressive. So, saying someone is a little above average intelligence isn’t saying much. Average intelligence is NOT impressive.

Like all distributions that plot out to a bell curve, the middle is simply where most samples fall, it doesn’t mean the middle is great. It just means the middle is crowded. P.T. Barnum knew it, advertisers know it, politicians know it, attorneys attempting to sway a jury know it, Jim Jones of Jonestown, Guyana knew it, Casino owners know it, every con man on earth knows it.

It’s not hard to deceive the average person because the average person isn’t all that bright.

The ends of the bell curve of intelligence represent the profoundly limited people on one end and the incredibly smart people on the other end. There are not many people in those extremes, but I would submit the middle of the curve is pretty damn sad in terms of what “Average” actually is.
Judging from this group of characters, scientists would conclude exposure to lead correlates to a significant increase in intelligence. Then one of you would surely monkey wrench the study by introducing them to the site that shall not be named. ;)

Went out for a ride today to check out a store I get powder at. It is about 80 miles from me but also has some good food out there.

Here is how bad we are being robbed on powders. They always have a huge amount of powders available. But if they can sell this at these prices then it shows how bad we are being taken. I grabbed a bunch of the Longshot and 11fs. And the 5th edition lyman shotshell book. My 4th is falling apart and I have lost a few pages.

I'd bet that almost 50% of the Lemming population WILL and probably already have a stash of masks to wear.
I have a stash of them, bought a box about the size of a Kleenex box. I'd wear one to go into places I had to go into that requires them. I think I used five of them. Might be useful if the next virus turns out to be the size of a grain of salt.

I'm elderly, non compliant and won't patronize ANY business that makes masking mandatory. The common thought and how masking is promoted is false and frankly a lie. NO MASK provided by any business will stop the CV or any other Virus, period. Last I read the masks(short of the N95's) are between 1 and 5% effective. Even the N95's are only about 50-75% effective and way, way more expensive.
To each hiis own.
If brick and mortar business's go manditory masking, more will go out of business. Right now I buy most everything on line.
Don't fall for the misinformation about masking.

Just after the main Covid scare ended I had a scheduled doctor's appointment. I left for the appointment and got about halfway there when I remembered I had forgotten to take a mask along. So, turn around and drive back home to get a mask. And then back on my way to the appointment except now I'm jammed up for time. You know how when you're running late the fates conspire against you by making you catch all the red lights. After rushing to get to the doctor's office I arrive a few minutes late and wearing my mask go up to the counter and let the office know I've arrived. The receptionist takes one look at me and says, "No cloth mask" and hands me a paper one. So, I swap mask and the cloth one that I take off says Community Medical Center on it, they had given me this very mask on my last visit during Covid. After a while the doc makes his entrance and lets me know my blood pressures a little high, normally its pretty good. All I could say was "really".

it’s comply or be stuck in Alaska
darn the luck.

so the Japanese figured out you had to have 25NM or smaller particles in your lungs for the 19 version to take hold.
those size particles come from stuff like diesel exhaust, various aerosols, and other city air type issues.
the body itself doesn't have receptors that size normally.
think about that for a bit.

Masks were never intended to stop you from getting sick. Masks were to reduce sick people from spreading disease.

Learned that 45 years ago doing my EMT/Medic surgery training. That is why doctors wear them and not the patient.

If you can "smell" thru a mask it wont stop this virus.

What a mask CAN DO is reduce spread by better controlling spittle.
