Seriously, I read somewhere that the aborigines in Austrailia would huddle with the dogs to stay warm and that's how they'd describe how cold a night it was, by the number of dogs one slept with. That's supposedly how the band got its name.

In our house, it would be cats, but somehow, "Three Cat Night" doesn't have that ring to it.

I've read the same about both Aborigines and Eskimos and don't know for sure which one is the real one, but I know a fella who makes tent stoves and calls his shop "Four Dogs" in reference to how cold it gets where he lives.

Three Dog Night was some good tunes though.:)

I can attest that a pile of cats on your chest while you're in bed does indeed provide measurable warmth.

We have four kitties now, not real sure how that happenned, but only one is a real consistent snuggler like that. He's pretty old now, but it seems his favorite thing is to get right up next to his human and sleep and purr all night. Gonna miss that little guy when he's gone, almost 16 now, so probably not long.

Agreed. Joy to the World is one of those universally recognized songs, just say "Jeremiah was a bullfrog" and people start singing along.

I'd pay decent money to see Three Dog Night and America. Would have left after that, always thought the Beach Boys were about the most over rated band ever.

I saw three dog night, Merle haggard and blue oyster cult playing together once.
Those were some good drugs!
Humorous as that is, I'd have gone to seee a line up like that. I do regret never having gotten to see Merle Haggard. We did go see Blue Oyster Cult, Winter of 88 or 89, so they were old and past their day even then. They showed up to play in some dump in Lawton, Oklahoma (a dump in and of itself, but that's a story for another time). I was surprised a venue like that, but I seem to recall they put on a decent show.
