Sitting on the back porch in 90° weather enjoying a cigar. Not looking forward to the weather this weekend. It’s supposed to be 105 here tomorrow and 112 on Sunday. Very unusually high temperatures for this part of the country.

I just started dabbling in the cigar world. Finding out real fast just like good bourbon it can get very expensive quickly…

Happy Birthday RB!
Went to the deer lease yesterday to check feeders, get game cam cards, put out mineral supplements and bring back my 4 wheeler.
Very long day for me.
Left a 6 AM and got back home at 8:15 PM with 7 hours of driving.
Now I have 6 SD cards with deer and hog pics to review. We are getting overrun by hogs.
The lease was very wet and humid.
100* with 80% humidity.
Has anyone ever used apple flavored corn in their feeder? How did that work out?

I could smell a zippo just thinking about it pretty hard.

pulled out all the first growth spinach [I have already been picking on this year] this morning then spent the day plucking all the leaves and parboiling it for the freezer.
probably shoulda took some of the leaves from the second growth, but it started raining sorta and the big tote full of spinach was sayin I didn't need any more right now.
i'll over plant the open spot with more spinach seeds here in the next day or so, after mixing in a little more 4-5-4 fertilizer and some sandy dirt in the open area.
I figure I have got about 12 lbs. out of that 3'x3' area so far this year, plus whatever garlic I get from the few of those I under-planted last fall.

Planted My tomato seeds a little late this year.
I love beef steak tomatoes. Since I can not get them in the store, I always plant a few, garden or not.
Have 5 of them that came up. The little buggers are about 6 inches tall. I go out every day and cheer them on.

Wild blackberries are starting to ripen. Cindy picked enough for baking, this AM. These a just from the outside edge, of the large patch, by the detached garage. Too thick to get into the middle.

This was the patch, exactly one month ago, when the flowers were fading.

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
Phew! Got the hay rolled up ahead of the rain. Kids graduated high school last night. Got 4 zillion things to do and zero ambition today.

that's what Tayberries look like when they are fully ripe.
before that they are pink-white and finally red, which is when they taste like raspberries.
it makes it kind of hard to wait them out when you have the first option for about 3-4 days.

I expect to be working some long days for the next four weeks. I let our main customer know that we were running a little low on work so if they needed anything before the Oshkosh fly-in next month let us know, we could get right on it. Oops! Now we have about 8-10 weeks of work on a four week schedule. One project requires me to write 60 CNC mill programs. Actually I need to write 2 programs and edit each of them 30 times, the parts are similar, require the same tools and are made from the same material but have slightly different dimensions. Write the basic code, change the numbers in the right places, and bingo a new part.

I'm also working on a device for my prostheticist when I don't have anything else to do...

When it rains, it pours! Better to be behind than too far ahead. I wonder if Scrappy is going to ready in time for Oshkosh this year?
