Went and fired a couple hundred round of 45 ACP with the wife. Shot up some odds and ends of ammo.
Went quite well, she shot far better than she expected.

Did some cleaning in loading room today. Took about 50# of bullets to the garage to melt back into ingots. Best thing is the 1000 or so 45 ACP cases I found along with the 800-1000 38 special cases I was missing.

Found a countertop I forgot I had. It was under a ton of crap. Now that I found it I may be able to load more ammo.

well the entire day here went nowhere.
I was starting to lay out the fence thingy around the big lilac tree out back when my phone rang and I somehow heard it so I traipse in through the shop and it stops ringing as soon as I pick it up.
I notice I have like 6 text messages from Verizon telling me the wife has been buying games for the G-boy to play on her phone and start to delete them as I walk back out.
I finish deleting them [like a 4 step one at a time process on the old Motorola flip phone and drop it in the box next to my chair in the shop and head out back.
as soon as I pick up the tape measure and get my brain caught up with where I was it rings again, this time it's the wife wanting to know if I was hungry and if I was to come over to Littlegirls house and they'd make something.
siiigh yeah I got nuthin to do guess i'll drive across town for a dutch pancake.
when I get there, ain't nobody cooking, but they are all hanging out in the dining room dying hair.
while I'm waiting and entertaining the Baby, and the cat, one of the dog's, and the G-boy, moving the water out back, and getting some eggs out of the coop to make the pancakes with.
they decide we are going down to Pokey to the car races.
fast forward 2-1/2 hrs. we are in pokey just about to swing onto hwy 86 out to the track and I have Littlegirl check to see if they are going to have their concession stand open or not, when she gets a facebook message saying the races had been cancelled.

okay well left turn and skirt around town to a place we generally go to lunch,,, for dinner and back home.
I ask the G-boy if he'd like an ice cream cone in tourist town and he says yeah.
okay,,, so we park at his other Grampa's house and check in with him for a minute then head down to the ice cream shop on main street.
we walk up and eyeball the line inside through the side window then look around the corner at the Que on the sidewalk.
yeah their ice cream ain't that good...

Last month when we were up on the Island (it’s a tourist trap) that my dad lives on. We walked up to the waterfront ice cream shop, there was a huge line, and the price of a small child’s cone had gone up to $4.59.

So, I turned the boy around, and marched him right up the block to the fancy Main Street Grocery Store and a bought a box of Haagen Dazs ice cream bars. They just happened to be on sale for $3.59.

Yes, I’m a cheapskate.

Spent parts of Thursday and Friday learning to troll with planer boards for walleyes on a couple Wisconsin's biggest flowages. Thursday was rough with lots of wind and white caps making control difficult. Caught on short walleye and my buddy had something big on that finally cut him off. Since there is a decent population of muskies in Petenwell one may have been the culprit.

Friday was much calmer and we returned to Petenwell with some much appreciated advice from a regular angler there. He had a pair of hand line reels for sale and I wanted a spare(s) for Spring when I hand line the Mississippi for 3 weeks. Such equipment is not made in large quantities and you cannot just go buy one or find someone to repair one on short notice. The fellow selling the two A&S reels has a place right on the "Pete" and was most generous on offering tips and locations.

So my buddy and I headed out and managed to catch two white bass, four sheepshead, a short walleye, and a walleye too big for the slot limit. We learned a bunch and had a good time. Just a nice couple of days all in all.

Original recipe is a Blueberry Orange Bread. Cindy will substitute blackberries, when in season. It's a pretty heavy/filling cake like bread.

You would have to get past the electronic gate, video surveillance and Bella the attack Boxer. 12014.jpg

Cindy made Blackberry Muffins, today, to take on tomorrow's women's Missouri kayaking trip. I was only allowed to taste one.

Wet tumbled maybe 800 45 ACP cases. Took advantage of the big old heater in the sky to dry them quickly.
