Loading 44 Special is on my agenda this AM. Since the thermometer is reading 15 degrees. Prepped the brass, yesterday. Along with some 338 WM, that I've been doing cold weather testing with Lar's 2500+.

The 44 Special is getting the RCBS 240 SWC GC, cast over twenty years ago............RCBS soft pistol lube. Skeeter load (7.5 grs Unique) in half and 14 grains of 2400 in the rest.

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
Started processing a whitetail doe from an over population cull. Town maintenance worker showed up at my door confirming that my name was on the list. All I had to do was go out to the town shop at the cemetery. A couple if signatures for the carcuss tag and home I go. Already cleaned and clean test for CWD, even loaded it in the truck for me. Just need to skin and butcher. Keeping the back straps, tenderloins and some cuts from the rump/round and balance into breakfast sausage. Easiest deer I ever brought home, also the first time I ever brought something home dead from a cemetery.
The mind boggles at how off topic we could get with this one!

The forecast was for temps down around -12 this AM but it's up around 0F. Funny how you can be thankful for a temp of "only" 0!

Granddaughters coming over, got a million things to do. Not sure what will be on the agenda. Probably nothing inside or involving guns and casting.

Got some reprints of the manuals for the Logan lathe. I'm getting happier about getting it. A tool room lathe is quite step up from the hobby lathe I've been using. I'm looking at how to rig it up for collets and what it would cost even! Thats quite new for me. Still have a ways to go before it's in running condition. I did fish the 3 jaw chuck out of the bucket of used oil the kid had it in. Made in India, and the face plate that was on the headstock must have been put on there by the Hulk. I got it off eventually. I cleaned that up too, not very well finished. The chuck moves fine and looks okay. No clue on runout yet. I think the lathe even has power crossfeed! Yes sir, quite a step up!

John, the 24-3 and 14-grains of 2400 ought to get along quite well. Give 13.0 a try as well.

I leave the pill casting to professionals like Brad.
Never have cast a pill.

I have made capsules. I have made creams. I have made solutions and suspensions. I have made suppositories, both fore and aft. I have made troches.

But pills? Never made one.

Yep, I purchased the 24-3 Lew Horton from Michael............along with the LH holster. Me being a southpaw. Painless transaction from a straight shooter. Highly recommend.

I changed the original combat grips, to Hogue's tropical hardwood. The finger groove grip was placing my index finger against the rear portion of the trigger guard. I went with the Hogue's rather than the Thai Guy's cause I didn't want to wait a month. Plus, Amazon offers two day delivery and no questions asked free return shipping. If these don't pan out, I'll return them and order a set from Thailand.

What brand is your toaster oven, Ian?

I thought it was a Black & Decker and have said so before, however I just went and looked and in fact it is a Farberware 25L from wallochinamart. I got it on clearance a few years ago and am not sure it is still made. It has a rotisserie thingy which is great for baking finishes on things like suppressors.

Just woke up, worked 14 hrs last night. SSS eat and back to work for another 12.
Have been in the below 0 weather at work quite a few hours on end. Taking it's toll. Nothing on the schedule for my day off tomorrow except maybe sleep.
